Class 1-A

As I looked around, I noticed an unusually large number of security cameras; literally, one hallway had more than two cameras. There were no blind spots from what I could see, which made me wonder if there was a specific reason for the tight security, but I just shrugged it off as whatever it was, I wouldn't find out by thinking about theories all day.

I walked through the gleaming corridors, students happily chatting here and there. Despite the fact that some of the girls were staring at me, I simply ignored them and stood in front of an opaque door where my classroom should have been. When I looked out the window, a few students were chatting, but for the most part, they were sitting quietly, waiting for class to begin.

I opened the door with a barely audible creak, and all eyes were drawn to me. The girls had stars in their eyes right away, while the guys had complicated expressions. I couldn't help but click my tongue; in my previous life, I wasn't ugly, but neither was I handsome, but this god thought it would be a good idea to give me a rather attractive body, presumably to tease me.

"Should I talk to him?"

"Wait! You'll be rejected, he' s got that depressive air about him."

The whispers were the only source of noise in the room, so I could clearly hear them. I fixed my jacket as I walked faster to my seat, as I had seen a blonde girl get up to apparently talk to me, but I didn't feel like striking up a conversation right now. My gaze scanned the back seats, and I found mine on the left side of the second to last row, overlooking the window. A little girl with light lilac, almost silver hair sat right next to me, her metal cane resting on the armrest of her seat.

Fufu~ My seatmate is quite popular." Joked the girl next to me right after I took my seat.

I saw her out of the corner of my eye, and she had a soft smile on her face, and her purple eyes were looking at me with curiosity, like a little girl looking at a new toy. I debated whether or not to respond to her, but in the end, I sighed and ended the conversation as soon as it began.

"So it seems." I said without bothering to give it a second look.

"Arisu Sakayanagi, nice to meet you." She said, not even flinching at my indifference.

Most people would be uncomfortable with someone deliberately ignoring them, but she seemed to be different, she just seemed amused at my actions.

"Ikke yoshida" I introduced myself and right after that, the classroom door opened.

A man with a stern look, black hair and a formal suit walked with his gaze to the front, immediately silencing everyone in the class with his mere presence.

"Good day, students. My name is Tomonari Mashima, and this year I am in charge of class A. I am an English teacher. Because classes at this school do not change every year, I hope to get to know all of you over the next three years. The entrance Ceremony will take place in the gym in an hour, but for the time being, it will explain some of the school's rules." He spoke fluently and confidently after standing in the classroom podium.

He handed out pamphlets containing the school's rules, which stated that we were not allowed to contact anyone outside of the school and were not permitted to leave, but included with the rules pamphlet was a small map of the entire student center. It was quite large and included several entertainment facilities as well as a shopping mall; it was essentially a mini-city in and of itself. The teacher spoke again as I was memorizing all of the rules and the map.

"I'm going to hand you your identification cards now. This card will allow you to make purchases at this institution's facilities. It functions similarly to a credit card, but you must be careful not to waste your points; they will come in handy, as there is nothing you cannot buy on this campus." Professor Mashima added a strange twinkle to his eye, emphasizing his final words.

This system, as explained in the brochure, drew my attention; it was a point system where you could buy anything from anyone for the right price; it was a representation of society in an educational system that prepared them for the future. Sure, it wasn't perfect, but it was at the very least entertaining. I was certain these points would be significant; after all, if we could buy anything, wouldn't there be restrictions, or would there? Could we buy a pass that allows us to skip years of school? or tamper with a student's grade?

"To use a card just swipe it in one of the machines, each point equals 1 yen and everyone should have received 100,000 yen by now. The points will be credited on the first day of each month."

100,000 yen? Wasn't that a little much for a high school student? If their goal was to turn them into money wasters in order to boost capitalism, they would be completely successful. Some students were surprised by the amount, others seemed indifferent, the girl next to me laughed mysteriously with a "Fu~ fu~" and seemed to be amused, good for her.

"This number of points is assigned for your abilities. In case you're wondering, these points aren't redeemable for cash, so feel free to use them as you see fit. You may also transfer them to another person if you wish, but extortion for points is prohibited. Have any questions? "

A student in the front rows raised his right hand, and stood with his back straight.

"Can we keep the points and store them with the other month's 100,000?" the student asked, earning a few nods from the other students.

"Yes" Replied the professor, lowering his gaze to a sheet on the podium "Katsuragi-kun" He finally said.

The girl with light lilac hair looked at me as if she expected something from me, but I simply returned her gaze, and she smiled softly and raised her hand.

"How many points are we going to get next month?" She asked without getting up from her seat, which elicited puzzled looks from some of our classmates, but others, including myself, seemed to understand what she meant. At no point did the teacher say we would receive 100,000 points every month.

The professor smiled a little, but quickly hid his smile.

"I can't answer that question." He finally said, and whispers spread through the class.

"Fufu~ Is that so?" The girl named Sakayanagi laughed mysteriously, as if satisfied with the teacher's response.

"I'll leave if no one else has any questions. Have a pleasant stay in our facilities." Professor Mashima exited the classroom without looking back.
