Chapter 15

  Erina

  I was rooted to the spot as I waited for Nicholas to return. I'd been prepared as much as I could for him and his pack, but not that other one. At least with the devils I knew, they tended to care about my arousal and enjoyment, with that last guy, I would have just been used like a toy.

  His remains stared vacantly up at me from the ground. He hadn't even got to experience the sheer terror that Nicholas could bring. I shuddered. This situation was spiraling out of my control, and fast. I didn't fear for my life, not as much anymore. Now I worried if I would ever escape this place, or if I'd be stuck here forever.

  Nicholas had saved me, but I couldn't think of him as an actual savior. Not when I'd seen that darkness inside him. An erosion that threatened to engulf me. My thoughts scattered as the door squeaked open and Warren and Nicholas entered the room.

  "Princess," Warren greeted, warm eyes inspecting me. "Are you okay?"
