　　My lips drew back from my teeth as it rippled through our bond. Something had happened to Lucas. Not dead, no, but he was being taken away from us, far away from us. Hadn't I teamed him up with Jack so they could watch each other's backs? I forced myself to breathe.


　　Getting upset would not help the situation. I needed to stay focused. Warren and Paxton should be with Erina by now, that left myself, Norman and Jack still able to battle. But this amount of enemies didn't make any sense. Dominic had been given our pack to lead as a gift, but from what I'd learned, most hated the man.


　　So why was such a huge force trying to get revenge for his death? This didn't feel like Lucian's style either.


　　Soft footsteps echoed down the hall, coming from the path beside me.  They were brave to send a woman. Brave, but stupid. I wouldn't hold back for anyone's sake.
