CHAPTER 3

  This was heaven.

I was snuggled against the warmth of my very own Prince Charming. He was listening to me, and not only listening, but he was actually interested in everything I had to say.

"Six mates? Your mother must be quite the impressive woman. A shame she wasn't smarter. Anyone could see just how valuable and talented you are, Karina."

The rocking carriage had the habit of throwing our bodies together and everywhere we touched warmth threatened to suck me in. "How far away is your Kingdom anyway, Sire?"

He chuckled at me and taking an index finger ran it down the slope of my nose. "It's been quite the journey, but with you here it's going far faster. Don't worry, we will be home soon enough. I will prepare everything for our vows, don't worry."

Was this really happening? Was I allowed to be this happy? I wanted to squeal and hug myself, but if I did something childish like that he might decide to change his mind. I couldn't have that happen.
