  Myla had no fear. She pranced right up to the ring and let the fire warm her fur as she studied it.

  "That's too close," Shepard interrupted. "You can't jump from there."

  Myla snorted. "Did you really think I would insult myself to jump from here? You really are senile. I'm here to inspect the obstacle so I can make a perfect landing." With her head held high she trotted far away from the ring and smirked.

  Shepard didn't respond to her barbs, instead he sat back and watched with his arms over his chest.

  Myla took off like a rabbit running from a hound. She moved faster than I'd ever imagined I could go and as we got closer to the hoop of fire in no time, she gathered her legs beneath her and sprung into the air. She sailed effortlessly through the center of the ring and landed with her head held high on the other side. There was no burning of flesh and not a single piece of hair was singed.

  "See?" she challenged him again.
