Chapter 5

The classes went just fine. The teachers taught what they were taught to teach (no funny line intended) and the students learned… except for “Arnold”.

He was sitting and playing with Rosie’s hair from the start. She had noticed it and turned back - smiled - met with his smile - and then turned at the front again, only to have him play with her again right again.

She didn’t know he loved playing with it so much. It was going to be dispersal in a few minutes. He suddenly leaned forward, whispered: come to the washroom, and then went out immediately.

She couldn’t even understand everything when she stood up. “Washroom? Like-girls’? But wouldn’t he be in the boys'?” She thought to herself. She didn’t have time to ask Sarah who was busy asking her question from the teacher - stopping her from leaving the classroom for God knows why, so she left and walked towards the washroom.

As she followed him to the washrooms, she was pulled right in front of girls’ washroom to the boys’ washroom and the door was locked. Her eyes widened as she looked at him. They were too close because they were locked in a bathroom!

  “Uh–what are you–”

He kissed her and pushed her against the wall. She didn’t resist and kissed him back. He stopped after a while and breathed deeply.

  “Hey, R.”

She looked into his eyes and couldn’t help but chuckle a little. “Wow, that was a really… strange hello.”

“I hope you liked it, though.”

She took a bold step and walked towards him, one step. “Oh boy, didn’t I tell you that I love strange things.”

He smirked and kissed the side of her mouth. “Though this is not a very hygienic place…”

“Right!” She got away and laughed. “This was a very bad idea. You pulled me into a boys’ washroom? How am I supposed to go out?”

“Well, I have a question before I answer that.”

She raised her eyebrow. She looked really cute to him at this moment. Her hair fell nicely over her shoulders and her brown eyes were mesmerising. Her pink lips were attractive enough for him.

He took a step close again before speaking. “Well, you didn’t call me by my name even after I told that to everyone. Why is that?”

“Something tells me it isn’t your real name.” She said honestly. “I have no idea why you would use a fake name - or if it is even fake - but maybe it is just a hunch or the fact that you didn’t tell me and were ready to tell it to everyone else in the class isn’t settling. Or the fact that you told me you loved that show with Winchester Brothers or the fact that it is something that my instincts just don’t agree with. Or the fact that…” She smiled and looked at him. “That I know if you wanted me to address you with the name, you would have told me that the day we met.”

He smiled and kept on smiling. He couldn’t help but hug her a little. It was so heartwarming, knowing that she understood him so well. He had never had someone who knew him so well and he cherished her so much.

“We should go now.” he got away and quietly opened the door slowly after she nodded. He made sure no one was looking and then let her out. After washing her face, she went back to the class - it was not a good thing if she let anyone see that smudged lipstick.

As soon as she entered the class, she saw that he was already back and was looking keenly at the book he had shared with his new partner in the seat.

He took another small glance at her and continued working as if nothing had happened. She really wasn’t that good of an actor but she did just fine as she made her way to her seat and sat down, continuing with her studies as well.

“Where were you and him?” Sarah wanted to ask this so keenly, but she couldn’t because he was right behind her. She kept her thoughts to herself.

The dispersal happened soon. Sarah and Rosie stayed back - much to their sadness - as the teacher asked them to submit their notes for a quick check as they had been talking a lot, thus paying no attention in class.

“You can leave, though, Arnold,” The teacher said to him as he hadn’t left and was still indulged in his books - he most probably borrowed it.

“I’m good, Miss Rivera - he spoke for the first time in class and looked up. I will just be gone in a few minutes. Because these girls are staying, I suppose I could stay back for a while too.”

Miss Rivera, the teacher was more than happy. “Oh, sure! Stay as long as you please, Arnold - I welcome any student who wants to study. I hope these girls here learn something from you.”

He gave back his signature smile while she walked out of the class. As Sarah and Rosie both hadn’t made their notes, they were forced to stay back and complete 50% of the work and were given the opportunity to do the rest later, at home.

Rosie sighed. As she was about to go to Arnold, Miss Rivera entered the class again. “And yes! Arnold, could you please keep an eye on these girls? Just make sure they don’t talk while I go and arrange a teacher or an extra student… or maybe you could handle them, if it wouldn’t be disturbing?”

He looked up again and glanced at Rosie with a smirk. Then converted that smirk into a smile as he looked at the teacher, “Sure, Miss. I would keep a keen eye on them. No disturbances while I’m here.”

She smiled. “I knew you’d be my favorite student as soon as you stepped in!”
