Chapter 71

　　The passage was silent and so is Eulysis though he is panting thinking that the conditioning room might have been harmed by the shockwaves. He gulped as he opened the door with his eyes closed.

　　“Captain.” The very first word greeted him when the room has finally shown him its inside.

　　He broke in tears as he sees their vital monitoring devices still working, showing how perfectly fine they are.

　　“How do you feel?” he asked the only one who’s awake.

　　“I am scared, Captain.”

　　“Don’t be.”

　　He held her hand and squeezed it gently. She’s so pale, an indication that she is not yet ready to get out of her cradle.

　　“Is there something you feel painful?”

　　“No, Captain. I feel nothing.”

　　He nodded while suppressing himself to show her any pity. Of course, they won’t feel anything since they’re under the dose of anesthesia.

　　“Did you feel the waves earlier?”

　　“I did, Sir. But I doubt the others did, too. They’re all sleeping peacefully.”
