“I don’t kill people, Rum.”
He placed his gun on top of the table and even let her hold it.
“Neither I—before. But something happened in the past that made me do it. And that is to keep a promise.”
Hearing the word, that made her remember her promise to Eunice—an answer when she comes back.
“Lux hates disobedience, Rum. He might kill you if you get on his way.”
“I am not getting on his way. I am just going to protect your clone. Yet, I am uncertain if he would not kill me, though. But if he does, that simply means that he’ll lose someone he can trust the most. And I think, he can’t and won’t let that happen.”
“You know him better—”
“If he wants to kill me, then, he definitely would. I know that too well. And I am always prepared for death. So, we don’t have the whole day to discuss this. Are you taking it or not?”
She took a deep breath and meet his gaze. “Can I ask you something? What benefit would you get from this, if ever I take it?”
