Chapter 173

  Everyone is silent, though they are supposed to be having a conversation since they are having their breakfast—like the old times, Eunice expected. Yet, it seems like no one is around, that no one of them is bothered at all by their quietness. The same thing goes for weeks ever since she came back.

  “I’m done.” Roel stood up after drinking a glass of water, holding a book that he can’t just put down.

  “Wait. I am coming with you,” Ronald spoke and eat faster, almost got choked on doing so.

  Julia eyed on Norman, but the man just shrugged his shoulders and gave the two an approval to go by waving his hand. Her mom shook her head and turned to her.

  “Don’t you want the food?”

  “N-No. I mean, I love it. I am just wondering how those two became like that.”

  The old man creased his forehead and swallowed a morsel before emptying his cup of coffee.

  “Became what?”

  “They don’t leave the table unless everyone is already done eating. Never.”
