CHAPTER 205

  Aside from the whistles of the night breeze, seemingly having a feast lively insects, and rustling of the grasses, there is no other sound that can be heard in the place where Euno took them to.

  Interchangeably, by pair, they take turns on guarding, even though they are somewhere so isolated—somewhere that seems to be civilization had never reached, nor touched by a glimpse of it.

  Eve leaned on the bricks-made wall as she waited for the last minutes of their turn.

  “Once, during the mission, Head Euno had opened up that he doesn’t like his life here on the outside world,” the man she’s with spoke. “That once he gets home, all he wants to do is to go somewhere far away from where his parents are. So, he stayed with us.”

  She was saddened as she heard a hint of pity and bitterness in his tone. It is as if even though she has nothing to do with it, she is partly to be blamed for what they are going through.
