CHAPTER 225

  She made sure that the sun has already set when she gets to the place, despite being told to go there in the morning. No one is to be seen passing by the street, neither lurking around the area when she parked the car at the side of the road, hundreds of meters away from the feared forest. But she stopped when she reached what she thinks is the boarder line.

  “It is I, Eunice—Captain Eve,” she informed. “Mister Yuscov, are you there?” she approached a little closer and roamed her eyes around.

  “Henry?” she called once more, but she received no response from the man.

  Suddenly, a rustling halted her from pacing, and was froze for seconds when someone got out of the dark. The man stood a few yards away from her and with his hood on his head, she cannot tell who he is.

  “Is that you?” she asked, loud enough for him to hear.

  “I am,” the man replied, to which she had recognized whose voice it is.
