Chapter 15 Someone else in his arms

Hearing the staff's words, Phoenix replied, "We purposely chose an inauspicious day."

The staff member gave us a funny look but didn't say more.

We walked out of the city hall with our marriage certificate in hand. Phoenix suddenly turned his head and said coldly, "Since you've tried so hard to marry me, I won't disappoint you."

The word "disappoint" was stressed, which gave me goosebumps.

It read, "Emergency contraception".

I held my tongue and took the pills obediently.

"From now on, I'll watch you take these pills. So you better not be pregnant with my child and then blame it on me!"

He then tossed a key to me, got in the car, and left.
