"Hagrid, who is Sirius?" Violet asked with a tilt of her head while the half-giant started sweating.
"He is, well… uh… not important!" And finally he just yelled while looking at the side. "Yes, not important. You know what's important, cakes! So let's talk about cakes instead, I think my current batch is quite a masterpiece, why don't you try them!" And then tried to distract them with his rock cakes.
"No Hagrid, let's talk about this Sirius." Yet Violet was not deterred as she glared at Hagrid, who was visibly sweating under the eleven year old girl's gaze till…
"Fine." He broke. "But this is… well it will be rather personal for you, I'm not sure if your friends should be here to hear it. No offense of course." He raised his hands in surrender at the betrayed look Hermione gave him.
"I'll just tell them later anyway, now tell me." She said with a shake of her head and then Hagrid started to talk with a sigh. A few moments later, Violet started shaking.
It was far too much. She had a godfather, a godfather that had been imprisoned with no trial due to people thinking that he betrayed the location of her parents to the bastard who killed them. Who spent ten years and would have spent who knows how many more, if not till the end of his life, in prison if someone hadn't found Peter Pettigrew; the one who actually betrayed her parents.
Hagrid was also saying something about how they had been friends while they were in Hogwarts but Violet wasn't listening anymore. Instead, it felt like her whole world was simultaneously swaying from one side to another while also shaking. In the end, it was far too much.
So she got up with her chair scraping the floor and then ran out of the hut, uncaring of the cries behind her.
---------
"Violet!" Hagrid yelled after the running girl as he started to get up before I stopped him.
"I'll go talk to her." I said with a sigh as I went after the crying girl.
Honestly, I should have realized that learning everything she did would likely be emotionally taxing but to the point of running? Maybe I was cut off from ordinary people and feelings a bit too much.
Well, hindsight's twenty twenty.
After I was sure that I was far enough from Hagrid's hut so that they could not see me, I stopped walking and instead started to hover; right before shooting forward and reaching to where Violet was, sitting with her knees pulled to her chest and her face buried in her knees.
"You feeling okay?" I immediately winced as I heard myself, of course she wasn't okay.
"No." Her voice was watery and her answer proved my word. "I hate it. I hate it! I hate it!" She kept yelling the same thing over and over again. And when I sat down beside her, she latched onto me and started to cry on my shoulder.
It wasn't a pretty sight. Her eyes were getting puffier every second, snot was running down her nose with seemingly no end and her tears felt like drops of acid on my shoulder. It was a startling realization, I had thought about my meeting with this girl and how I had orchestrated the release of Sirius Black from Azkaban with the intention of having him adopt me later on so that I wouldn't return to orphanage; yet I hadn't realized one thing before this moment.
I cared about Violet.
And seeing her in pain like this, even if indirectly, because of my actions... it made me angry. It made my blood boil as I wished that I could have Pettigrew before me so that I could char the rat with the power of Hyperforce. Wish that Dursleys were here so that I could turn their brains into mush. It made me wish that I had made that little parasite of a lich calling himself a dark lord suffer a thousandfold more when I had the chance.
Yet none of that was possible, so I did the only thing that I could. I kept Violet in my embrace, and let her cry as much as she wanted in silence.

"This is... concerning."
"You have a gift for stating the obvious Albus. Must have been quite handy when you were a student, right around when we invented the wheel." Lupin said with a snort as he downed another shot. "Concerning or not, it is the truth. We have at most five years before the little ruse you and the Confederation is trying to protect will fall, the wand waving society of ours will become a part of the greater world of magic again."
"And there is no way that your source might be wrong?" Dumbledore asked, desperately hoping for an answer he knew that he wouldn't be getting.
"She isn't likely that drunkard I hear about that you hired Albus. Madame Xanadu does not get the future wrong."
