Chapter 12

The ladder went down extremely deep. We climbed down for about 3 minutes before reaching the bottom. There were torches stretching really far across the eerie tunnel. "Why are we down here Robbie? Where are we?" My mother said. "That man kidnapped you guys and put these machines on your head that powered a machine that was about to wipe the city. I know it sounds crazy but everything is okay now. We just got to get back to the city now and we will be okay." I said. "Okay, Robbie. When we get home you are going to tell us everything. You understand?" My mother said. "Yes mom." I said. Rose ran up to me and hugged me as hard as she could with tears rolling down her eyes. "I missed you Robbie. Thank you for saving us." Rose said smiling serenely. "Wait so how is Michael and his mom alive? I thought we found them dead?" Chris said. "That guy in there who was named Wilson Crowheart found identical looking people and murdered them and put them in that house and river to make it look like Michael and his mother were subdued." I said. "Wilson Crowheart?! He is the mayor's secret assistant. That must mean the mayor has something to do with this sinister plan." Evan said. "When we get out you got to tell the police everything Robbie. We can take the mayor down legally with all the information and proof we have." Michael's mother said. "I have a question for you Claudia and I want an honest answer. What did you have to do with Wilson Crowheart?" I said. "He walked up to me one day after school and told me that if I didn't do exactly what he said he would subdue my parents. So I had no choice but to listen to him. All he wanted me to do was deliver that note in Rose's locker. That's it." Claudia said. "Look! There is a ladder that goes up right in front of us!" Said Chris. We climbed the ladder and it went directly to the supermarket that me and Evan smoke at, at nighttime sometimes. We went to the police station nearby and asked to make a statement. We waited for about 15 minutes before getting called. "We're ready for you Robbie." Said the officer.
