I Don't See What There Is To Talk About

Bryce took a few deep breaths to calm himself. Jenna said tonight, not permanently. She hadn't mentioned anything about breaking up and if she didn't want her family to know they were fighting, it probably meant she planned on staying with him and didn't want to make things awkward later.

"Okay. I can do that. Can we talk though?" he asked.

"I don't see what there is to talk about. I'll get over it eventually but for now I want to be left alone," Jenna said with an air of finality.

But if he left her alone, this would fester; he was sure of it! "Jenna…it really was an accident. I had only gotten three hours of sleep so I was totally out of it. You're the one always going on about fairness—can't you see that holding this against me is unfair?"

"And you're the one that says you don't care about fairness. So now you're picking and choosing when it works best for you?"
