Chapter 5

She was late.

She could see him standing at his car checking his watch every minute.

"Reneè I'm so glad I found you." It was her physics teacher- Mr. Peter -that stopped her. "Can you help me test some scripts, that is if you are not busy?"

She looks at Liam then back at her teacher.

She couldn't say no to a teacher... well depending on what they were asking.

"Sure Mr. Peter."

"Don't worry I won't take much of your time."

He lied.

He took about an hour before he let her go, and the test papers weren't even finished.

By the time she got outside the whole school was practically empty.

She told Carlos that she was going with Liam so he isn't wait for her and so did Lucy.

Her only option was to walk.

She was a great distance away from the school when dark clouds gathered above her head. A strike of lightning flashed then thunder followed after it. She felt something wet drop on her nose and in the next minute it was pouring heavily.

Apparently there was a diner not far from her. She ran into the diner dusting of her rain covered clothes.

The rain didn't drench her much.

The diner was really full except for some few empty seats here and there.

She decided to take a table close to the window but there was a guy already there.

"Um... hi. If you don't mind can I sit here?"

The guy looked up from his phone, "Yeah go ahead."

"Thanks. I'm Reneè." She takes out her hand and he places his in hers, "Beckett but you can call me Beck."

She was happy she decided to sit with him. They talked about each other, laughed and even exchanged phone numbers.

"I wonder when this rain will stop." It wasn't as heavy as it was the first time.

"Well... I could take you home if you want."

"I thought you said you came here because of the rain?" She frowns. "Yeah I did. I don't like driving in the rain. So can I take you?" He smiles.

How do you expect me to say no to that?

She nods. They stand up about to leave when she hears the bell ring as someone walks in.

Her widen as Liam spots her, walking over to her.

"What are you doing here?" He glares at her.

"What am I doing here? You left me, where else do you expect me to go when it's raining?"

"We're leaving." He tries to grab her hand bit she pulls away, "I'm not leaving with you, Liam."

He tries to grab he again but this time Beckett steps in, "Hey she said she doesn't want to go so she's not going anywhere with you."

"This is none of your business, and who the fuck do you think you are? Let's go Reneè." His voice was louder.

"You're causing a scene, stop it." She says as she noticed people looking at them.

"You don't want to see me when I'm causing a scene if we don't leave now that is most likely going to happen." He goes again to grab her but Beckett push him and he knocks into their table.

Liam looks back at Beckett with a deadly spark in his eyes

Oh no.

Liam threw the first punch, landing it on Beckett's jaw. He stumbles bumping into the table behind, Liam didn't even wait as he tackled him to the floor.

Beckett managed to get a few hits in him but Liam definitely had the upper hand.

The shouts from both Reneè and other workers were futile as the boys continued to fight. It was until some of the male workers jumped in, tearing the two boys away from each other.

Pushing of the people holding him, Liam grabs Reneè pulling her out of the diner before she even had a chance to say goodbye to Beckett but she managed to give him an apologetic look before being dragged out of there.

She could feel the anger radiating off both their bodies and the silence did nothing to help it.

He parks the car in his driveway getting down and pulling Reneè with him.

"Let me go Liam."

"Why, so that you can go back to him?" He yells back. "What's your problem with Beckett? You just barged in there and started hitting him when he did nothing to you. And don't you even forget that you were the one that left me."

"When he did nothing? You are so fucking naive. I helped you and this is how you fucking repay me? Fine go fuck yourself and if you want to dare me go see that dick again." He walks away, upstairs.

She sighs sitting on his couch. She wasn't even sure whether she wanted to help him anymore.

Oh Beckett, I just hope you are alright.

Something inside the kitchen catches her eyes. She quickly walks over, picking it up.

She knock on his room door, he opens it frowning. She didn't even wait for him to tell her to come in as she makes her way into his room. "What the..."

"Sit." She cuts him off pointing to his bed. "What do you..."

"Sit down Liam." She narrows her eyes at him. He stares at her before taking a sit on his bed.

She sits beside him, opening the first aid box and bringing out some cotton wool and disinfectant.

Putting a little disinfectant on the cotton wool she gently places it on the cut above his eyebrow. He flinches away, "Can't you be fucking gentle?"

"If you're going to be rude then I'll just leave and you will do this yourself, since that's what you want." He was silent, "That's what I thought."

She continued to treat him... so lucky her mother was a nurse.

She paused when the last cut was on his lips.

The part of his body she dreaded the most. She kept her eyes on it, staying still which alerted Liam.

He turns to look at her. His eyes tracing where her eyes were looking. He takes in a sharp breath realising where she was looking.

She slowly looks up at him, biting her lip. She catches the flicker of Liam's eyes to her lips when she did that.

It was the ringing of her phone that ended the staring competition they were having.

Her mother had sent her a message saying how she would be back earlier today.

Reneè clears her throat, "Um... I'm not busy now, how about we go over the project?"

"I guess." Liam mumbles still confused about the contact they just had.

They were downstairs studying when Reneè's phone rings. She excuses herself to answer the phone when she sees a familiar name on the screen.

"Beckett." She whispers, afraid that Liam will hear.

"Hey." His voice was rough and scratchy, she hears him groan a little. "Oh my God Beckett I'm so sorry about what happened, I didn't..."

"It's fine Reneè I understand, it wasn't your fault." Beckett says reassuring her. "Are you okay, I hope you're not hurt badly?" Concern lacing her voice.

"Just a few bruises here and there, nothing I can't handle." She smiles even though she knew he couldn't see it. "I'm happy you're okay. It's just that Liam can be..."

"Liam can be what?"

Reneè sharply turns to be met with green eyes glaring at her.

"Liam I..."

"You what? After practically dragging you away from him for your own fucking good you still had the guts to go back and ask him how the fuck he's doing?" He yells, anger taking over his senses.

"Reneè is everything alright?" Beckett's voice sounded concerned and a little panicked.

The sound of Beckett's voice threw Liam over the edge. He stormed his way over to her, his hand taking a hold of hers as he pushes her to the wall earning a groan from her as pain shot up her back.

Due to the force he used on her, her phone that was in her hand slipped, falling to the floor, a crack forming on the screen.

His grip on her hand kept getting tighter each passing second. "Liam stop it, you're hurting me." She cried out in pain as she felt a bruise already forming on her skin. She tried to push him with her other hand but he didn't even budge at her futile attempt.

"Do you fucking think I give a shit about that? You are so fucking stupid. You can never see what was right in front of your eyes."

Her back hurt and so did her wrist. "Liam stop, please." Her blue eyes glittered because of the tears waiting to be freed. She had to bite her lips to stop a sob that was threatening to escape out of her mouth.

"Liam!" That was the first thing Jennifer said as she entered her house to a sight of Reneè who is on the verge of tears pressed against the wall by her son.

Jennifer quickly rushes to them trying her best to push Liam off Reneè. Liam didn't waste time as he left Reneè to push his own mother, making her fall on the floor.

He gave Reneè one last glare before storming out of the kitchen. The sound of the front door banging close made them realise that he left the house.

Jennifer slowly crawls over to Reneè who was seated on the floor. "I'm so sorry I got you into this. This is all my fault." The woman looked as if she wanted to cry for her son hurting another person who tried to help him.

Reneè managed to convince Jennifer that she was going to be alright. Her mom wasn't back but it was still around six. She goes up to her room and lies down on her bed wrapping her blanket around herself with one thing on her mind.

She was done with him.
