ALAN'S POV
"Get up! It's morning, and you have school today ", a crooked voice said loudly, disturbing my cherished sleep. I ignored him and pretended not to hear him, turning to the other side of the bed and continuing to sleep.
"You're playing dumb, aren't you? You have to go to college, you know "He said it again, but this time he whomped my butt cheeks hard, causing me to swoop out of bed.
"The fuck Josh, you can't hit an adult man on the butt, and it's not like school is compulsory," I hollered, rubbing my butt cheeks with my palms because it hurt so much.
"Yes, I can, and school is a must," he chided as he sat on my rumpled bed, folding his arms.
"No way, I'm not going. I don't want to go any longer ", retorted angrily, and blew a strand of my jagged hair out of my sight.
"Alan, you have to go. Lizzie and the others need to see this side of you "Josh balked and burst out laughing.
I stared blankly at him and said, "You tell anyone, and I snip your bulgy eyes off," before storming into the bathroom.
I don't want to go to college any longer. I just can't bear the thought of anyone spotting me doing library tasks. The more I think about it, the more terrifying it becomes, and it's all the fault of that blonde and hideous-looking Iago. I got cold feet just thinking about both of them.
I turned on the shower and let the water plunge on my jagged blonde hair, allowing it to soak wet, hoping that it would help me forget about everything and calm my nerves. I was dead on, there's nothing like a bath, and it's undeniably true that water is the cure-all for almost everything because it worked like magic.
I showered and dressed to get ready for doggone college. I came out of my room to find Josh had prepared breakfast, a bread toast, which I had been expecting. We get to eat it every day, especially when Josh is in the kitchen.
I ate the curry toast regardless, because I was used to it. You're probably wondering why I don't cook. First and foremost, I am the great Alan Wolfe, and second, Josh will not let me into the kitchen. My other cuz who lives with us doesn't even eat at home, and the truth is that I don't want to either, but Josh acts so differently to me, as if he's my demi-daddy.
Josh and I did not start living together right away, and Josh is a diploma graduate working in a computer engineering firm. He's very good at it.
I ate only two bites of toast and scuttled out the door before he could say anything.
"Alan, won't you finish your breakfast?" Josh chided aloud, and I could hear his footsteps following me out of the apartment; he was wearing a fucking apron, so that's my cuz for you.
I hurried into the elevator and pressed the ground floor button; I was relieved when the elevator door began to close but was stopped by a large hard hand.
When I glanced at the hand, I noticed Josh's mouth broadening into a grin.
Josh yelled at me, "You can't just leave like that, it ain't right."
"I get it, thanks for explaining and spanking my butt cheeks," I rolled my eyes.
"I did it for your own good," he said yet again.
The elevator came to a halt, and a couple joined, looking intently at Josh, who was dressed in an apron, then staring at each other and saying nothing more.
"I'm talking to you; I heard everything you did in college," Josh stated once more. When the couple looked at me, the only way to avoid embarrassment was to pretend I didn't know Josh, the guy in the apron who smelled strongly of curry. I didn't respond to him and pinged on my phone as if I didn't know who he was.
I was the first to exit the elevator as soon as it arrived on the ground floor because all I wanted at the time was to avoid Josh, the curry apron fella, whom I was certain the couple saw in that light. I exited the building and went down to the basement. All tenants keep their cars in the basement, and I kept mine there as well.
I have three babies errrr cars, but I prefer to refer to them as my babies. My ladybug, a white volkswagen 2020 tiguan, is the one I use the most, or should I say all the time, and my second baby is Mr. Beast, a black wrangler altitude, which I use only during the winter because it is big and doesn't really suit my style, but I don't play with them at all. My entire childhood has been devoted to my cars.
The third car is my favorite, Gus gus, a red Mazda Mx-5 Miata, which was the first car I ever owned and with which I have the most memories. It's my only source of joy when I'm sad, depressed, or frustrated, and I believe that driving Gus gus to college is the best time to do so. I got gus gus parked separately from other cars because it's been a long time since I've driven it. I made my way to where Gus gus was kept safe.
"GUS GUS!!!!!!!!!!" "MY GUSGUS, who the hell did this to you!?" I hollered as I saw Gus Gus completely wrecked. He appeared to have been brought out of an old car garage for dumped cars.
I felt like my entire world had just shattered right before my eyes, I even felt my eyes glossy, and the only feeling I had at the time was anger raining down on me.
"Who dared to do this to my gus gus?" I yelped.
The security guards rushed over to me, scared to death, but I didn't give a shit. I was only concerned with how to penalise the perp. I'm not sure why they couldn't respond to me.
I narrowed my furrowed eyebrows and raged once more, "Didn't you hear what I just said!?" It was more of a rhetorical question than an ordinary question.
"Alan, you need to chill and stop yelling at the poor guards like that," Josh said as he approached me and put his hands on my shoulder. "You're not always this way."
"What the fuck are you telling me, dad paid them for their services after he bought this building, and this kind of thing wasn't supposed to happen under their supervision?"
"You're right, but you don't have to blame them because it was all my fault," Josh took a deep breath.
"It's pointless trying to cover for them, you know?"
"I'm not filling in for anyone; I took gus gus out last night." Lizzie called, and I couldn't refuse her."
"What the fuck are you telling me, dad paid them for their services after he bought this building, and this kind of thing wasn't supposed to happen under their supervision?"
"You're right, but you don't have to blame them because it was all my fault," Josh took a deep breath.
"You realize, it's lame to try to cover up for them."
"I'm not covering for anyone; I took gus gus out yesterday evening. Lizzie called, and I couldn't refuse her."
"And you took my baby out to drive Lizzie, not only that, but you also crashed it?" I snarled.
"My car was with the technician, and you're making a big deal out of nothing, and you don't even drive the car anyway, so I took it out."
That was one of the stupidest comments Josh has ever done, not to mention annoying.
"Do you think I'm making a big deal out of this?" "You took my car out without my permission and crashed it, and now you're telling me I'm making a big deal?" I grimaced.
"No, don't get me wrong; I didn't mean it that way. Lizzie told me everything, she didn't just want to hang out, she just wanted to cheer up her friend, I don't know who she is, but I remember her name being Jessie or Jusco, or something similar."
"Did you let that human monster get into my gus gus? She is the source of all my college troubles, and she has done many despicable things to me while posing as a naive whiz. What is she exactly? "First she made a fool of me, then she got me in trouble, which I'm still dealing with, and now you're telling me she caused this?" I wheezed.
"I didn't realize she was the reason, and you know I just can not say no to Lizzie."
"I've been through enough, and I don't want to talk about it now; just get my gus gus fixed," I said as I hopped into Beast and drove away from the building to campus.
