Workaholic

Once Shimizu got to school Kotaro ran up to him and started asking questions.

"Who is that? Is it your dad? He's rich, dude." Shimizu just shook his head. "My uncle."

During the break, Shimizu received a call.

"It's Haruhi Takase. I found you a job. After school, Kuro will drive you there. Is that alright?"

"But what will I be doing? Should I bring something?" Shimizu flushed. Haruhi kept his word. He really got me a job.

"No. You won't need anything. I will explain what you'll be doing once you get here."

Right at that, the bell rang and we said our goodbyes. During classes, Kotaro kept bugging Shimizu about the job, at the convenience store and once he explained what happened, Kotaro started apologizing profusely. But that didn't affect Shimizu because the whole time there he could only think about Haruhi. Last night he was so nice to take care of me. When I saw him next to me in bed I realized he wasn't so bad looking. I'd even say he is handsome. And when I hugged him he felt really warm. Shimizu blushed, giggling to himself. Thankfully no one noticed.

"What do you want me to do? How can I be your secretary?"

"Well you will have Kuro teach you, so there's no problem and you'll have to do only half of the job since you'll be working half a day."

"How about the pay?" In the heat of the moment asked Shimizu.

"You don't have to worry, you will be rewarded by the hour, so the longer you'll stay the more you'll get paid."

Due to the need for money. Shimizu worked until very late at night on the weekends and almost all night during weekdays. Because of this Hirahi made a proposition to Shimizu.

"I live in the building right next to this, how about you sleep over there." Shimizu didn't want to accept but after further consideration, he agreed. It does take me almost an hour to go from work to home and in the mornings Hirahi would take me to school.

Hirahi was impressed by the student's work ethic. He got used to working rather quickly and did every given job diligently. It didn't matter how important it was or whether it was due in a week or a month he always finished early, and always made sure I would review his work before heading home. But after a while, Hirahi began to worry. Shimizu became a workaholic, this time he didn't sleep for over a week. He tried persuading him to take a break but Shimizu refused, no matter how much Hirahi pestered. More importantly, midterms were approaching, and he was worried about Shimizu's exams. So he called Shimizu into his office.

"President, you called for me?"

"Yes Shimizu, sit down."

"What happened? Did I make some sort of a mistake?" Shimizu began to worry, approaching Hirahi's desk, ignoring what he said previously.

"Please! Sit down." Hirahi sighed, he couldn't bear it anymore. Even looking at Shimizu he could tell that the guy was overdoing it. He had huge bags under his eyes, unkempt hair. Even though he never forgot to shower. Shimizu couldn't even stand properly. Always slouching or constantly holding onto himself.

"I heard midterms are approaching. How about you take a break?"

Shimizu felt relieved. So it wasn't about my work, that's great. "No need, there's plenty of time left for it."

"It's in two weeks, Shimizu…" "I know. Like I said plenty of time. I'll take two days off right before the test, just so I can sleep a bit. I have been learning in school so my grades won't drop, don't worry." He gave a business smile.

Hirahi couldn't argue with him. So he just sighed and dismissed Shimizu. He spent the remaining 12 days overthinking what might happen to Shimizu.

Shimizu had been gone for only 4 days and the production speed lowered almost halfway. Kuro was handling everything perfectly but having two pairs of hands was way better than just one. Shimizu had been working in Hirahi's company for over 3 months and he couldn't believe how much he mattered there. Maybe one-day Hirahi could officially employ him there. A week has passed and Shimizu returned happier than ever.

"Ha, I told you I could do it!" He barged into Hirahi's office and threw a piece of paper at him.

"What is this?" He picked it up. "Agh your report card." He looked at it, then at a proud Shimizu standing by the door. "Wow, the lowest score you got was 89. Amazing!" He handed back the paper to Shimizu and patted his head.

"I was the first in school. I used to always get 2nd place but I finally surpassed him, I got first."

"Well, why don't we celebrate," said Kuro walking into Hirahi's office with unfinished work. "Hirahi, I brought some papers for you to look over, sadly they aren't as exciting as what Shimizu gave you, I do wish you'd look over them carefully." Hirahi just nodded and sat down to finish up the work.

"How about today we go to a restaurant, it's on me?"

"I will find a place for tonight, don't worry, President," Kuro said, running away.

"Can I help with anything?" Shimizu questioned looking over Hirahi's shoulder at the documents.

"No need, you just finished your exams, relax for a bit. You can go to my place for that. I'll call you when I finish work."
