-Orion's Base-
--Lia's Perspective--
"Say 'ah'" as the doctor requested, I opened my mouth, but it hurt far too much because of the shards of glass still stuck between my gums and tongue.
"I hate this… I hate this so much… I wish I was just dead." I sobbed between her pincers grabbing the shards from my mouth.
"Now now, it's only because you defy him that he does this to you. If you just listen to his orders, it'll eventually stop. In the meantime, it's going to have to be like this." She said, wiping the blood from her hands.
"What if I just jump off from the tower over there? It would stop pretty soon if I did that, I think." I told the doctor.
"Don't talk so ridiculously. Even you offer something to this kingdom, and this world, that nobody else can provide. Do you hear me?" She told me.
Sure...
"I've given you some gauze to help with your mouth's bleeding, but it should've stopped by now. Take care now, Lia." The doctor pushed me out of the room as blood still dripped from my mouth; I had no choice but to move forward.
I was under strict supervision from a man named Raven. He had curly black hair and dull blue eyes with a defining scar on his forehead, but he never spoke to me directly. That character he showed to me was nothing but undesirable, especially in my situation.
"Hey look! It's Lia!" Orion's two children, Nathan and Aegis, came bursting out of their bedroom door at top speeds and pushed me against the wall. I spit up blood and slid down the length of the wall, tears still in my eyes from the doctor's office.
"Eh? Come on Lia, you need to be stronger than that if you're going to survive here." Nathan crouched down and punched me in the face, then ran off with Aegis's hand.
Raven lightly kicked me in the stomach and told me to get up, but I couldn't find the strength in my arms. I just wanted Raven to kill me right here, and right now.
"Hey, get up, Orion requested an audience with you, he has a job for you." My eyes rolled into the back of my head in irritation as Raven picked me up by my tattered shirt's collar, forcing me to walk forward into Orion's throne room.
The throne room was layered with statues of this pretentious prick, along with fancy, purple carpet, servants, and Orion's maids.
"And you're sure you saw the White Stone on his hand?" Orion asked a cloaked figure in front of me. With her hand perpendicular to her knee in a bowing stance, she nodded.
"Yes. Your scout observed the White Stone awaken on the beach and reported the message to me immediately." The girl said.
"Good. That's where you come in, Failure." I looked up to Orion's high throne and he smiled at me.
"If you bring me that White Stone's head, I will free you from my clutches." He told me.
A brink of hope ignited in my heart, and I nodded sharply. "You won't be disappointed!"
Orion clicked his tongue and turned to one of his four greatest knights: Dante. Dante was the person who enslaved me from my village, so our relationship was already sour, not to mention he swore allegiance to Orion in the first place.
"Dante will be accompanying you to make sure the job is finished. Dante, if the job isn't complete, I order you to rip both of her arms off. My eyes widened after he said that, because to my left were his maids… without arms.
Is that how he planned to use me if I failed?! I'd rather just kill myself in front of the White Stone.
"Dante, are my orders clear?" Dante nodded almost as sharply as I did, and Orion dismissed us all.
"Don't get cocky, Failure, jobs like this are tough on the mind and the body, I expect you to be on the top of your game up until we arrive at this base stationed south of here." Dante slapped me in the back of my head, and I stumbled forward, holding it tightly.
"We're not stopping for water breaks or for bathroom breaks, so I hope your mind is strong enough to suppress those desires," Dante told me.
"Yes… sir…"
