The Danafall Name

--Lia's Perspective--

Sky waved over to me on the field and I went over to join him. Dani should've been with me, but she probably got distracted with another tent, so here I was alone. Giving Sky the promise ring was a lot easier to do alone anyway.

"Hey, Lia!" Sky said, waving at me. I walked up to him, passing by several other people on the field. Sky was training Charlie, Alex, and Mandi with something. I wasn't sure what experience he had over them, but I shouldn't underestimate him. Of all people, he's proved that to me. He was almost my role model at this point.

"I wanted to give you something... but, don't take this the wrong way or anything. It was a symbol from my village that meant a promise or sign of friendship. It's this." I told him. I handed him over the ring, avoiding eye contact to make this less awkward.

"Woah, so these circles are intertwined?" He asked. The ring was a trinity shape, so every circle was intertwined with each other. Once he put it on his finger, it sat just like a ring would. Sky put it on his middle finger on his left hand, which is exactly where it was supposed to go.

"Thanks, Lia! I'll have to get you something... hey, do you mind if I ask a few questions?" He asked me. I nodded, waiting to hear what he had to say.

"Oh, before you ask anything, have you thought of a way to regenerate your arm yet?" I asked him. He shook his head. "We should think of a way together, I'm sure we'll be able to come up with something," I added on.

"What do you remember about your past?" Sky asked me.

"Well, a lot more than you do. I was born from somebody, grew up for thirteen years, there's a lot more to my life than yours." I responded to him.

"Right, then why do I still understand concepts like parents and other things only your kind would understand? Where does this knowledge come from?" He asked me.

I wasn't sure how to respond to him. You can't simply explain those things to somebody and expect them to understand, so I was just as curious as him when it came to it. Why did he understand what parents were like?

"Well, does your System count? After all, you talk about it guiding you sometimes." I asked Sky, but he shook his head.

"No, it's weirder than that. I can tell I used to have two parents, but I never woke up with any." He clarified.

That System of his was always a mystery to me... obviously. I couldn't fathom having another voice, or being, as he put it, in my head. That could be considered insanity in some cases.

"In my fight with Zeal, I lost my left eye but when I concentrated with my System in mind, I was able to regenerate it. I wonder if I could do it again, now that you mention it." Sky said out loud.

"What else do you know about yourself?" I asked again. I still wasn't over the fact that some things he was able to remember, but not who the people were. That got me thinking...

Sky can understand the concepts of things, but not the people. Are the only things from his memory that are hazy the people that were a part of his memories?

The biggest question I had left was how he woke up with that Stone and his strength. What grants somebody that stone, that was the age-old question of anybody born on this Isle. What caused the White Stones?

"I know my age, what I look like... and my last name, I believe. Whenever I try to say it, it slips from my tongue and I forget it. It's odd..." Sky said, looking up to the sky. He was lost in thought right now.

"I remember my last name as well. Lia Danafall was the name given to me at birth." I told him. Again, he was lost in thought.

"Danafall...? Where have I heard that before?" Sky asked. I was surprised, he shouldn't have heard it from anywhere. "Danafall... Ethos? Logos? Who was it..." Sky thought out loud again.

"Logos said that he only praises one White Stone, and that was Orion Danafall. That's where I heard that name from." Sky told me.

I could feel my heart drop through my stomach when he said that. That had to be some sort of mistake, right?

"What do you mean Orion Danafall? That has to be a joke, right?" I asked him. I was in disbelief, I could not come to terms with Orion and me being related... although, it would explain a little about my heritage.

"Orion Danafall, that sounds like his name. Logos mentioned it, I swear!" Sky pleaded, but it wasn't him I didn't believe, it was just being able to accept that I'm related to Orion in any way.

"It's fine. Hey, let's not talk about this now. I don't want to think about it." I shuddered, picking up a blade lying to the side of us. "Let's train a bit while Charlie and the others rest," I said. I pointed over to them and Sky agreed. They had been in their own conversation while we talked about Orion.

"Who was the first White Stone?" I asked Sky. I was still curious and wanted information, seeing if he could somehow tell.

"Elo. Zeal is marked as The First Stone by his own decree, but Elo is the first-born Stone." He told me.

"How do you know that much into it?" I responded. The things he knew and the things he didn't know were way too inconsistent.

"My System told me. Ever since my 'fight' against Zeal, my System can speak to me now, not just warn me." Sky stated like it was something normal.

"The System... can talk? What is it saying right now?" I asked. I peered to look into his left eye, but couldn't see anything.

"Well, no. But I can see data I ask for, like the Stones and their abilities and what-not." Sky clarified. What a headache...
