Rematch! Sky VS Boo

--Sky's Perspective--

"Sky! Now that you're back, we should go visit Boo!" Shike invited me back into our old dorm and I walked in, realizing how much it's changed over the past two years.

I really missed these guys, more than words could explain, and this tough feeling in my chest was that childish excitement to be with them once more.

"It would be nice to see Boo and the others again. Okay, where are they at right now?" I asked them.

"Well, they might be on a mission, but Mitra said they would be training in the field later today, so we should go check there?" He pondered to himself.

"Alright, let's head over there... Alexia, are you going to let go of my arm?" I looked to my left to see Alexia holding onto my sleeve while looking down.

"Somebody has to make sure you don't leave again! And I don't see Shike or Belle holding onto your arm! Come on, let's go." Alexia adamantly said. I listened, not like I had much of a choice, and was dragged out of the room.

Once we got to the field, which hasn't changed at all, there were many students standing in the middle of it training with each other. I tried to look around but was greeted by Naomi.

"If it isn't the lost man! Hey Sky, long time no see!" She called out to me.

Naomi didn't seem to have changed at all. Even with Shike, Belle, and Alexia, their faces were more defined and didn't have as much baby fat on them anymore, but Naomi looked the same as ever.

"Boo is going to be so happy to have somebody at her rank. Hey! Myth! Mitra! Come look at who's here!" Naomi yelled out again.

To their surprise, Myth and Mitra turned the corner once more to see me and their faces lit up. Two people I didn't think cared about me all that much returned to my position and started asking me all kinds of questions.

"Yeah! I killed a lot of Rubeki out there." I explained to them.

"And to think, you seem just as you did the day you were exiled. I thought you would've been a war-torn man! I'm so glad to see you alright and still smiling! Boo should be back any time now if you want to wait around." Mitra explained to me.

"So much talk about Boo... how is she? I hear she's pretty strong now." I said to Mitra. He scoffed in response.

"Strong? She's top of the class. She's been waiting for you to get back, and frankly, we're all ready to watch you two fight again. I can't wait!" Mitra said to me again.

I nodded in a weirded-out way and stepped back a little. After about a minute of idle chat, I could hear Boo call out my name.

"So! You've decided to return to fight me!" She called out again. That cocky attitude... that was definitely Boo.

"I'm glad to see you missed me! Want to fight?!" I yelled out to her again. She nodded and drew her katana from her hip. All of the students in the field crowded around and I summoned a purple saber with a fierce look to it. I could tell Boo was surprised, but I couldn't show off how scared I was of her right now.

Her dull pink eyes were piercing my heart with the way they curved down at me. She was probably one of the scariest people, and her death stare must've sent chills down somebody's spine. I didn't want to back off of this fight, but she was scary to the point of shivers.

There was an interesting trait about Boo that I overlooked. Her speed, the same speed I could barely react to before, could only get faster with training. That being said, if I came to understand how fast Boo was by now, she should overwhelm me completely. Speed isn't my strong suit.

In a millisecond, and I mean a millisecond, Boo vanished from her position in a burst of black. The sound barrier broke beneath her and for a constant stream of heavy wind, I braced my feet and anticipated an attack from my front side. I swung downward and collided with something heavy and metal. The sound it made was the ugliest, ear-piercing noise to have ever been produced in MTG.

Boo slammed her Katana into my Saber and broke the strands about halfway through my weapon. Her training was insane! She broke the sound barrier and even pierced my strands?! What kind of speed?! How was her body holding up?!

Boo clicked her tongue and shot back in that blur of black one more, circling around me with a visible stream, and struck my back.

I couldn't even reinforce my body to block that, as she would run straight through me.

I dodged forward and flipped my body up, taking her hit with my saber once more and flying from the impact about forty feet from my old position. I slid to the ground before I regathered my thoughts and decided to use all available power to me to understand how to take her on.

An ability bestowed to me by Illya's sharp thinking skills was a predicting skill that only she and I could use. Our overabundance of strands was the most defining thing about us, and not using them would've been stupid.

I closed my eyes and flooded the field with slight strands. I could understand where all of them were, I understood every surface, and was ready to react to Boo accordingly.

I kept my eyes shut and felt impacts on the strands on the ground. So, she was stepping on the ground, but she was too fast for my mind to react. Her last strike was about to come in... I hope.

The strands cut from her circling path and a straight shot toward my head from my right side was honing in, I barely had any time to react... but I had enough.

I threw away my saber, opened the palm of my hand, and caught Boo's wrist as she lunged at me. Grabbing onto her wrist left her immobile and she was surprised by my reaction time.

My leg swept right under her knee and I pushed her to the ground while holding onto her wrist. I opened my eyes up and held her close to the ground. She was about to admit defeat... or so I thought.

With a smile on the side of her face, I let go of her and performed a backflip over her next strike. I had no way to predict that, but the sixth sense in my brain told me to do so.

The backflip was so high and so quick that I got a gasp out of everybody around us, including Boo, and slammed my foot into her chest. She hit the ground and stood down with a deep sigh. She pushed her body back up with a smile and a quick laugh.

"I guess even after all that time, you're still the strongest! That pushes me down to second place... but don't you worry! You'll be defeated by me in HTG!" Boo declared.

"Boo..." I panted heavily as I placed my hands on my knees to take deep breaths.

"I think tomorrow you could beat me. I don't know how I kept up with you... but it was nice to know MTG was in good hands while I was gone. Now we can both defend it together." I said, patting her on the head.
