The fight continued as Illya charged in yet again. It was to my surprise that Illya had access to Belle's abilities... albeit she damaged herself to use them, she still used them fairly well. She was really powerful and even now, she wielded power I didn't think she had.
The fight continued with Death flipping his weaponry around. I decided to get more involved and took some heavy hits with my sabers from his counterweights. I wasn't getting hit, but the sabers absorbing the damage were barely doing their job. I'm nowhere near strong enough... I can't even get a hit in.
As Death ran in at me again, Illya pulled on the chain, ripped Death back, and even made him airborne as she slammed him into the ground with a force so intense that it sent a burst of wind out toward me. Death coughed up blood on the ground and had a steady stream pouring out of his mouth.
"You just don't know when to quit, do you?! You annoying bitch..." Death said to her.
"Careful." Illya threatened Death with on of her scary stares and he primed his weapons yet again to prepare for a fight.
"I could say the same to you." He said.
Underneath me, the ground started moving again and the dirt all disappeared. The chains, moving at a high speed under the ground, started to encapsulate me. I cut through them with ease, but as soon as I jumped out, I took a heavy hit to the head with the counterweight and was thrown to the ground.
I couldn't even remember anything, but I felt like my head had been split open from the hit.
---
Just as I opened my eyes and darted backward in confusion, Death was standing above me without a weapon, and with a disappointed look in his eyes.
"Nothing is here at all. Nothing to get rid of, nothing to replace, I am standing in a barren field." He told me.
I got up and looked around. He was right... this place was... empty, but it was also filled. It was a Black Lake. Infinite with flowing water, but not with the surface.
"When I hit you. I inflicted you with the curse of Death. The curse of Death is to take away something from you by killing the memory, but you have... nothing. There is nothing. Illya already killed it all. Instead of taking away something, you don't have, what if I give you a glimpse? A glimpse of something you already have?" He asked me.
"Don't touch me," I yelled at him, summoning my saber and keeping my distance.
"Bossman?" I heard from behind me.
"What are you?! Stay back!" I yelled out to the buff man walking toward me.
"Bossman! I'm so glad to see you're alright! Did we win against Orion?! Did you kill him?!" He asked me.
"What... who is that? What are you talking about?!" I yelled out to him.
Something is seriously not right.
This buff guy said the same name that Death did. This wasn't a creepy coincidence anymore. Something is happening! Who are these people... do I really know them?
---
Just as I turned back toward Death, I was pulled back to the real world as Illya kicked him with such a wide-angle that she was doing the splits in the air.
She landed on the ground as Death bounced off of it and summoned two golden sabers, handing one to me.
"Keep up with me and he'll die. Do you understand me?" Illya asked me. I was concerned with the man I just saw... but I agreed.
Illya darted forward and I followed behind. Death, for his last time, threw both of his Kusarigama's at Illya and I. Illya deflected it toward me, which meant the blade was coming right for me now!
I deflected the Kusarigama headed toward me toward Illya and the two wrapped around each other and twisted too much for Death to unwrap them. Once they were put together, Illya summoned the third arm coming out of her back and grabbed onto the chains to keep the Kusarigama together.
"SKY! Take out the third one and aim for his heart! You can end this!" Illya yelled out to me. She coughed up blood and my resolve strengthened.
I ran toward Death and to both of our surprise, he was stuck in place thanks to Illya's third arm. She smiled with bloody teeth and Death started to freak out.
He summoned a third Kusarigama and slammed it down at me again, but I used my purple saber to deflect the chain as it came down. Finally, the counterweight of the third Kusarigama came at my head and by reinforcing my head, I slammed it into the weight and deflected it.
I took one last step and with the golden saber down at my left hip, I slashed up and to the right, ending above my right shoulder as I split Death in half right at his heart.
We both were looking at each other with the same look of surprise, but while he turned into smoke, I was able to smile. Nothing was left of Death, and it looked like we had finally won.
Illya fell to her knees and then unconscious on the ground.
"Illya! Hey! We won! Wake up!" I yelled out to her.
Just as I shook her body, Boo came walking up close to me with her katana unsheathed.
"Wait! Don't kill her! I need information out of her!" I yelled at Boo, but she shook her head.
"We all do." She bluntly stated while looking down at the two of us.
