"Friends?! With Illya?! I knew that bitch was up to something!" Boo yelled out while coughing up more blood.
"It's safe to say everybody's out of commission now... except for the one that matters. So, I can tell you. Illya's been betraying you all this entire time. She's kept me latent so I wouldn't attack Sky Asterio until she thought he was fit to fulfill his role as Deity. The Rubeki assault was my first move to reclaim my world." Providence said.
"Your world?! You don't own this! You bitch!" Mitra shouted out, which is surprising because he was usually pretty calm.
"You don't think this is my world?! Don't make me laugh! You all are pawns! I guess I can tell you the truth, seeing that you're still alive... every single one of you was supposed to die before this meeting even happened! Every last one of you! You are all fodder to Illya and my plan. Your lives mean nothing, and they never will! You are all so ignorant of the fact that you mean nothing. You didn't even have sentience until those damn Stones rooted into you! You were never meant to live, and the fact that I haven't decapitated everybody here is pretty damn astonishing." Providence admitted.
They were pawns...?
Meant to die...?
From Illya's plan...?
I felt a deep-rooted hatred dig its way out of me.
"There it is... I feel that Asterio rage... from two angles. Looks like you're finally coming back, Sky. Your rage almost matches your mother's. That's right! Let it blossom into something much more intense! Show the world why you deserve the title more than I do! This is all this is, Sky Asterio. This is one big plan to turn you into me! A being so powerful she's feared by millions or even billions!" Providence told me.
I stood up and looked at her from the dome, unable to escape from her trap.
"I don't know who you are, really. I know that you're a bad person. I know that you have to die... and I know the second I escape this goddamn restraint you put up that blocks me and you... that you'll be dead, if not from me, then from my parents after I weaken you." I told her.
"Your threats are empty. You are nothing. You couldn't save all of those people from your world. You couldn't save Tavian, Ullr, Cody, Robby, Red... or Domin! You couldn't save them, you saved the others with your anger, and here you are, only pledging to kill me because you are so mad. You are a failure to your friends in both worlds and you should be ashamed of that." She told me. And there she went, telling me the names of the supposed people I used to know.
"We'll see about that when I get out of here," I told her. I looked back to Providia and she met my eyes as soon as I did.
"I'm ready. I want you to test me." I told her.
Providia stood up and nodded, putting her arms up to my head, and pulling me toward her chest.
I didn't hit anything solid. In fact, I woke up in a strange place that seemed infinite. There was water for miles it seemed, and a grey sky that filled the background where the water didn't. From afar, I could see Providia walking toward me.
"The rules of this test are simple, Sky Asterio. Your goal and final destination in this world are to beat me, attain your old memories, and Synchronize with your old personality to awaken the Deity of Wrath. If you cannot do this, you will be reset and wake up as a young child who remembers nothing. We will meet here again if you fail this test. Do you have any questions?" Providia asked me.
"You keep saying that word... Deity... what does that mean? My Mom was said to be a Deity, but nobody has explained it to me." I told her.
"Well, it has a long history, but there are three main Deities of your world. There is Ali Asterio, Illya Asterio, and Providence Achamo. Because Providence Achamo is not an Asterio, the perfect Trifecta of Asterio Deities cannot reawaken." Providia told me.
"I still don't get it... but it's not necessary for the task at hand. Tell me, if I end your life, will there be any hard feelings? Will you hate me? Will Providence hate me?" I asked her.
"We are not designed to hate those who pass our tests. The Seven Sub-Deities underneath us have all passed The First Trial, so until another Deity needs training, I will sleep. Tell me, Sky Asterio, will you hate yourself if you kill me?" She asked me.
"Hate... myself?" I repeated what she said, and she nodded her head.
"In your previous life, you felt insurmountable guilt from the people you couldn't save. You repeatedly blamed yourself for deaths that wouldn't have happened if they were stronger. You were hard on yourself because you were not strong enough to cover everybody. The weaklings you surrounded yourself with were an insult to your strength, and Providence, Illya, Eo, and I were all happy that they were gone. Tell me, will you hate yourself if I die, because I am weak?" Providia asked me.
"No. I think I understand now that some things have to be done. Illya explained to me, and Mom did as well. People have to die... sometimes. I'm not really sure, but I think in this scenario, when it comes to you and I fighting, they were right. If you know what's on the line and you do it anyway, then I won't feel bad for it. I don't want to die here... but I'm okay with taking the chance to prove to both Providence and you that I'm a lot stronger than you think." I explained to Providia.
"Fine by me. Let's begin, Sky Asterio." Providia said. She summoned two golden sabers and her eyes shifted from one black and one golden to two black eyes. That must've been the Eye of Providence...
