"Don't be ridiculous... you want a fight...? I'll give you one..." I told her.
I was ready. I knew that I couldn't conserve my strength here. That wasn't what this test was about... and I finally understand.
Initiating my golden sabers, they shone brightly in front of her, briefly blinding her, and I took that opportunity to inflict the most amount of damage possible.
I swung, not in one line, but in multiple as two sabers came out of one handle. Her eyes darted all around as the sabers spun violently, but she didn't see one... the one in my mouth.
I chucked it at her by releasing it with my teeth and kicking it further. It scraped the side of her head, and the golden saber stayed on. I wasn't feeling fatigued from it?!
By reinforcing the muscles in my legs, I surpassed the limitations of my body, creating my own shockwave with my speed. I was slowly starting to understand.
During my time in Rubeki Territory, and training with Cynthia, who was still missing, the number one thing I never understood was how they were so strong. This was how. The strands in my body were taking over my previous limitations... and I can do anything I want with them.
As the golden strands created two sabers in both of my hands, I charged in again with the same speed, striking first with a stab toward Providia. She dodged, coming down with another slash, but I used my strands to grab onto her body, slamming her into the ground, and swipe at both of her shoulders as her face hit the ground.
I cut off both of her arms, throwing blood everywhere, and as she backpedaled to get back onto her feet, I charged in again, slamming the heel of my foot into her throat.
Her neck bent backward in a way that would've killed a normal person, but Providia wouldn't die that easily. She regenerated everything I made her lose, and for the first time... smiled?
"This is it! This is the true power of the Deity of Wrath! Come on! More!" She yelled out. We charged in again with our respective shockwaves, but she came in with a wide kick. I couldn't explain the way her leg bent as the shockwave kicked off and slammed into my arm, but it was so powerful that I felt it on the opposite side of my body...
However.
With the golden strands reinforcing my body, I could take a lot more force than before, and turn it into something terrifying.
I grabbed onto her ankle, slammed her by flipping and throwing her, and then, using the strands that absorbed the hit, summoned an extremely wide saber to slam into the ground.
It created a hole almost twice my width and should've killed Providia...
I turned around in midair and felt her presence behind me, using a saber to cut her in half and change her trajectory, I threw it at her, recalled the saber again, and then flipped, slamming it into the ground to create another crevasse.
Providia hit the floor while sliding and regenerating, then ran in again to attempt to kill me. This time, she summoned two thin blades that she could've held between the spaces in her perfect teeth.
The blades were thin, but still packed a punch. They were cutting me up and I couldn't spot them. She was powerful!
I jumped backward to group my thoughts, and in an attempt to confuse her, stabbed toward her stomach as she continued her onslaught of attacks. She dodged, but that was the wrong move.
The other end of the saber cut a part of her face off, and dug deep near her brain inside of her skull. I hadn't realized the landscape slowly changing, but we were fighting on a beach...?
"S-Sky? Is it night already? I-I can't see anything." A voice said.
"Do you remember, Sky?! When you're turning into an unstoppable power, do you remember your friends?!" Providia yelled out to me.
I turned my head and stopped fighting her. The veil of blood uncovered from my eyes and I could see a man with black hair and... well, I couldn't tell what his eye color was. He was ripped to shreds by something with sharp teeth... and he knew my name...
Domin...
"DOMIN!" I yelled out to him.
I don't know how I knew it was his name... but that was him! This is the beach... the beach I woke up on with Domin. What happened to him...?
Providia took my defenseless state and used it against me, tripping me and slamming her fist into my chest again. I was lucky enough to block it with my golden strands, but as I slid along the ground and looked back toward Providia... she wasn't there.
Instead, in her place, it was a girl with brown hair and blue eyes, but on one of the sides of her brown hair stood red tips. I sat blankly for a moment... until I realized who it was.
Lia.
Lia; she was the girl that killed Domin. I don't care if it was indirect... her actions still killed him... but how many people have I indirectly killed? If it wasn't her intention, could I really blame her for it?
"Remember all of those people, Sky? What about that one?" Providia put her head on my shoulder from behind and pointed down at the floor, where I could see a girl with red hair and brown eyes drowning underneath impenetrable ice.
I pounded against it, realizing that Red was drowning and begging for my help... but a large animal came and ate her whole.
"How about them?" Providia grabbed my cheeks from behind and tilted my head up, pointing at a group of people in front of me... as their names all came back to me.
Cody, Robby, Tavian, Ullr...
"It does look like you remember now... these are all of the people you could've saved if you were strong enough. It's too bad you were so weak. All these lives lost for no reason at all... can you believe that?" Providia asked me.
I felt like I was waking up out of a dream as more memories started to stitch themselves together.
The beach... I woke up with people there, Carl, Domin, Red, and somebody with a blacked out face...
Lia, Lily, Shiro, Moon, Noboki, Dante...
Where am I?
I'm slowly remembering now... I was with Illya, talking to her about keeping my friends safe... but now I'm here... and my friends are in danger...?
I silently stared at the floor as Providia looked at me from afar.
