"Excellent job!" Eo clapped as we returned back to the area with everybody else. I must've woken up over the noise...
"I tried doing that... but I could only handle a Level Two Corruption from Dani before I would've lost. How did she do?" Eo asked Umbra. Umbra smiled and gently set me down in Carl's arms.
"Illya doesn't stand a chance. Not if she can creatively use her abilities. She shows promise... and her Deity Abilities are recycled from an already present Deity. I won't say it, but I assume you know who I'm talking about." Umbra vaguely said.
I don't know why she was hinting at somebody mysterious, I already know that my abilities should mimic Sky's abilities...
"That's good to hear. So, she's really maxed out System Corruption, and she's still tame? And, where'd her red eyes go?" Lia asked Umbra.
"That's unfortunately the downside. Dani's Corruption produces a level of intensity that can't be stopped unless her Deity Status is seized from her, or unless I hit her with a full-power attack from my fist. I knocked her out of Corruption, but nobody else can do that unless I'm there... and I'm not going." Umbra said.
"So, what? When Dani goes Corrupt again, nobody will be able to stop her?" Carl asked Umbra. That was quite the eye opener.
"No. Not unless Illya dies, her Corruption will continuously go until she dies from exhaustion, or until she kills Illya. Anything else will not stop her." Umbra said again.
Nothing else will stop me. I have to kill Illya? Woah... the stakes are extremely high...
"W-What should we do, Umbra?" Ellie asked her while standing in a concerned way.
"You guys don't have to do anything. Dani... when you get into the fight with Illya, you need to understand that you must win, under any circumstance. Your life is on the line here. You do not possess the mastery of Corruption to fall out of it at will, so you will stay in, and you will get worse. You will attempt to kill your very own loved ones if they are around you, but you must do your best to kill Illya before that happens. If she survives, you will undoubtedly switch targets and attempt to murder everybody standing around you." Umbra explained.
Woah... I can't imagine myself doing that... but I don't want to argue that. Is that the price I pay if I can't kill her?
"That's... scary to think about..." Carl muttered.
"Then, we won't go with her. Well, I will, but all of us don't have to go." Lia shouted out in contrast to the atmosphere around us.
"Huh? No, you shouldn't... I want you to be safe..." I told her. I couldn't help but slightly cry.
"Of all people here, I need to help you. I'm still in debt to your kindness, and I always will be. Don't worry, Dani. I may not have Deity powers, but I'm still pretty tough. And wait, didn't you say that Dani would leak strands over how much she had?" Lia turned to Umbra after finishing her sentence with me.
"Well, I didn't, but technically, yes. If you knew how to utilize such a power, you could do it." Umbra finished Lia's thought and she celebrated her victory.
"Well, I'm going too! Lia's not going without me." Lily shouted out.
"Please... don't concern yourselves... I would never forgive myself if I killed you guys." I quietly said to her.
"I'm not repaying you, Dani. I'm saving Sky above all else. I'm going too." Rin shouted, which Ren joined in, and inevitably, Ellios nodded as well.
"I owe Sky a ton. I'll be there." David said. Tyler nodded beside him.
"Who am I kidding? I want to go as well. I can't have you dying on me as well, not as long as I'm there. Red and Domin would've wanted that." Carl said, looking at the ground with a kind smile.
"I take that this emotional moment is going to turn into everybody wanting to join you, Dani?" Umbra looked around into the crowd of friends, and everybody nodded.
"Good. You have quite a strong family, Dani. Let that be motivation for you. You're protecting a ton of people now. It might seem stressful, but just as it was for Sky, understand the lives you need to protect, and do whatever you must to protect them." Umbra said, unknowingly feeding a train of thought into my mind.
As I looked at everybody, I couldn't help but be overwhelmed with emotion...
Wait... I completely forgot about this!
"Umbra, wait! Before you leave... my System is talking to me. Through text, in my left eye... who is it?" I asked her.
"Hm... it wasn't me, it wasn't Avie... it wasn't her... who else is there, Eo?" Umbra asked her.
"Only two possible candidates I can think of. Illya, or Faith... huh? What did it say?" Eo turned to me. An idea was sparked in her mind.
"She told me to kill you since you had a body in 'there'. How could she know about both of your bodies?" I asked her.
"Faith... she's awakened...? We don't have any time! Fudo, we need you to bring us back up to The Scorched Isle! Once we land, leave the area. We need to go!" Eo shouted out.
She automatically started to run as fast as possible towards the strange disc Fudo picked us up in.
I began to follow, now that my body's stamina was replenished, but Umbra grabbed onto my shirt before I could leave with everybody else.
"Please, Dani... save my sister... save your boyfriend... save us..." Umbra told me.
I stuck out my thumb as I split apart from her.
"Leave it to me. I will save Avie." I told her.
I joined Eo and the others as Fudo quickly swung his body up the railing and into the disc. We all poured in, and even Shiro joined the group as the door barely closed.
"Why is it so urgent? If Faith is awakened, what does that do for Sky and the others?" I asked Eo.
She was tapping her foot on the bench and staring at the ground for some reason.
"I can think of a variety of reasons that she's awakened, but the most frightening one, is that the DNA of a Deity is about to be passed on to the wrong person. We have to seize it, and transform you into a true Deity before it's too late." Eo said.
