The People of The First Trial

"Run, Dani! I'll hold Providia off, get to Ali and tell her everything that's going on. You're an intruder here, and you won't make it far without that DNA!" Faith yelled at me.

"Faith... thank you!" I yelled out to her. I started to run in the opposite direction when my sixth sense went off and alerted me of three projectiles flying at me too fast to dodge or block!

And that's when Faith jumped in front of me.

She flipped her body, cutting one projectile, and landed on the ground with the same momentum from spinning. She effectively eliminated the remaining projectiles and let out a deep breath as she slowed down and stared at Providia.

She was so fast... I couldn't even perceive her body when she was blocking those! And, how did she do that?!

I decided to save my questions until later and ran for the edge, swallowing all fear in my bones as I jumped from the waterfall about a thousand feet in the air, hidden by the clouds.

Jumping from that height send chills into my stomach and I started to scream as the wind flew into my hair and launched it upward as I fell toward the ground. Falling from this height was insane! How do I even control my landing?!

Calm down, Dani... I have time to think... just remember what Eo said. Reinforce my knees and heels, or else I'll die on landing.

The fight was still ongoing! Shit!

Just as I was following, a shockwave of air hit me and launched me almost an entire mile backward just from the air pushing around the attack alone.

I bounced off the ground viciously after falling on my feet and crashed into a nearby building with tons of citizens standing around.

I fell through the windows and broke a ton of stuff on landing, but when I came to consciousness again, I regenerated my destroyed body and stood up, watching people crowd around me.

"It's the sky lady! Hey, what's going on over there?! Where did you fall from?!" They asked me.

I sat, staring at them all in confusion.

They were all human... just like me... except their eyes were patterned with crosses for pupils. They were all unnatural like I've never seen before... just like Providia.

"I-" I held onto my side as my voice cut out to reveal a ton of blood falling out. Dammit, I thought I healed that...

I used my strands to heal the wound and looked back toward the direction I have shot away from, and the people around me started to spike in curiosity and aggressiveness to find out who I was.

"I can't tell you, I'm sorry. I have to go to where the fight is going on. How can I get there?" I asked them. They stared at me dumbfounded, then continued to walk away like nothing even happened.

What the hell was that? All of them collectively started to ignore me...

I decided to ignore them right back and ran toward where I was thrown from.

This city was pointless and looped in various places. It was a labyrinth, almost, designed to keep me far away... I was turning corners that led to other corners, which led to more dead ends. What the hell is this city?! Who designed this?!

I looked around for a way out when I found a building with an open door. There were people shopping inside of it, pulling clothing off of shelves and sweet food out of bins by the back wall.

"Huh? Arbi shou do ba hani soon ke?" The voice said.

What the hell? I can't understand what these people are saying... their mouths weren't lining up with their speech at all either. What is this place? Why are the people so weird?

"Do ba hani soon ke?" Some man wearing a blue shirt and green pants walked up to me and said something weird again. I couldn't understand him...

"Can you understand me? How do I get out of here?" I asked him.

"Huh? Arbi shou? Totu shi, aith." He said, pointing to the stairs right by the back wall.

Thanks, person!

I ran away from the weird incoherent guy and up the stairs, to find a weird setup there as well. Just as the store or whatever building I just walked into was set up, the stairs were looped, following in some places that led to floor one again from floor two... how the hell was this here? Who put this here?

I walked up the first flight of stairs, only to end up in a different position of the same building... I was standing on the wall...

This is like an illusion or something... why is it in this building? This can't be practical, can it?

I turned to my right, watching the wall I was standing on curve back onto the floor with another staircase, so, I followed right back and stood on the floor.

However, when I looked up, there was a door leading to the building on the ceiling, facing upside down.

Shit... how the hell can I get out of here?

I looked around for any doors possible that I could get to, and traced a path to them. Following a warped staircase on my left made the room shift again as I took steps on the wall to lead myself to another door.

It took me about a minute to understand how the room was set up, but I finally understood and walked to the door leading out of the illusive room. I made it to the top of the building to see that the edge of the city was completely blocked off by a wall that I thought was another building.

Good, I have my goal now.

I jumped off of the building I was standing on to another smaller building and followed this pattern until I found an exit from the city. I jumped over the wall and started to run toward the battle... which was now a straight shot. I could see much more now... but the most terrifying thing visible to me was the huge sphere in the air filled with lights and scattered blood.

What kind of fight is going on?
