-THE DUMP-
--Kire's Perspective--
---March 20th, 2427---
"I'm glad you could join me today. Out on our scouting missions, we've found a small, uncompromised group of new people on the beach due south. The stony beach." Nova said, tracing a path on the map with her finger.
"Uncompromised? How can you be sure?" I asked Nova. The two people around her guarding the door behind her stood tall and were acting as perfect guards. We had six people around the table, all of who I never really got close to, but Nova started her explanation no matter how unsure I was about the people around me.
"Their actions, mainly. Some of them are watching their hands as they walk, and others are trying to drink the polluted ocean water and immediately get sick over it. I'm thinking about introducing myself, and myself alone. That way, they don't feel overwhelmed... or, at least overwhelmed to the least possible degree." Nova admitted.
One of the people to my left spoke up about he felt about Nova doing something so reckless. I'll admit, we were careful, even before Nova appeared to take care of us, but this could be considered beyond reckless.
"Listen, I'll be alright. Don't forget, I'm the one who trained our soldiers. My fighting skill is insurmountable in front of people like that. As long as I have my staff, nobody is beating me out." She said.
That was true as well. Nova found the staff in the forest and it's been an indestructible weapon of destruction in her hands. She's even taken on real blades with it that we made out of scrap metal and iron. The staff itself has a ton of marks on it, but it shows no signs of breaking. I trusted the strength of that staff more than the foundation of my house.
"You might be right, but still! Is it really safe for you to go alone?" The man asked Nova again.
"Well, I don't have to leave here on my own, I only have to meet them on my own, right? So, we'll establish a unit of people who wait for me in the forest or behind a hill. Will that make you feel better?" Nova asked the man arguing with her.
"That's all I had, as long as you're safe. We depend on you a lot, you know?" He said again.
You don't go saying those things out loud!
"I appreciate that, but, I want you all to be self-sufficient. What if something were to happen to me?" Nova asked with her arms crossed and eyes closed.
"I would never dream of such an atrocity! I'll oversee the group itself!" The man told her again.
"That's fine by me. I also want Kire there, and I don't care who else joins. Is that okay on everybody else's terms?" Nova asked us. We all nodded and the people who didn't want to be a part of the group that supported Nova left the small room. However, around ten people stayed, ready to join.
"Thanks for supporting me, guys. No hate toward the others, of course, but stepping up says a lot about how willing you are to work for the group's good. I appreciate that." Nova told us.
"It is a trivial task if you are involved!" The man said again.
I stared at him with a weird look... I really didn't like how he was acting toward Nova. It was borderline... creepy...
"Thanks. I won't go until later tonight when they're desperate for necessities, and they'll probably be even more inclined to hear out my request. Adapting an already built society with a bunch of outsiders will be hard, so I'll leave them be on their own after letting them know that we're here." Nova explained.
"That's a good idea. If they need something and you offer it to them, then they'll be inclined to make a deal. What else do we know about them? Do they speak our language? Do they seem like us?" I asked Nova this time around, instead of that weird guy.
"All good questions. We won't know until I get there, but yes, you caught on to what I was trying to do. I'll bring water and food, and their group dynamic will present itself in front of us so we can observe how violent, or peaceful they are." Nova stated again.
She really put a lot of thought into this... it was really impressive. The ideas she proposed could've been grabbed by any person, but hearing them verbalized really set aside the levels of intelligence of the group. Nova was by far the most well-thought-out person I've met yet.
"In the best case scenario, if they're like us, what kind of jobs would they have in our society? Would they be in charge of our food supply? Would they be on guard? Would they go on scouting missions? What are they trustworthy enough to do?" I asked her.
"Something that seems important enough. Assuming they speak our language and everything goes in a positive direction, I'll most likely have the women work on our clothing, and I'll have the men on guard around the village. Depending on how capable they are, I'll put them in other positions. Any objections to the plan so far?" Nova asked everybody.
"No, it's all proceeding well. Is there anything else we can do to prepare for this?" One of the other people asked.
"Not really. Gather our strongest weaponry, and make sure that we are secured from the inside. We'll scout a little after dinner, and wait until the sun has almost set to go and meet them. If we have no objections, then I'd like to disband the group we have here until then. I have some things I need to take care of." Nova told us.
"Of course, Nova! We'll get out of your hair immediately. Come on guys, let's go!" The weird guy said again.
"All but Kire, please," Nova said to him. The man looked displeased, but I snuck past his grasp to stand next to Nova as he left with everybody else.
Nova's smile instantly faded away and she clicked her tongue in irritation.
I've never seen her that upset...
"That guy pisses me off," Nova grumbled.
