Epilogue of The Trials Saga

-Quake Headquarters-

--Cole's Perspective--

---February 12th, 2446---

"With all of us gathered now, I'd like to begin our meeting," Fico said.

Her wings were up on her back as if she was getting ready to use them, and she slid over each of the tables, meeting our hips as we looked toward the board in the front of the room.

"As things stand now, we have a new enemy on the horizon... and this one is very dangerous. It is The Asterio, Sky Asterio." Fico said.

Our hearts all shook at once. The fear that followed that name was far greater than Eirikr's and would be dangerous for us if we even collided with him by accident.

It has been four hundred years since I was killed in combat by him. Sky Asterio, that man who had over a billion confirmed kills, was a force of nature and a ranking so high up on the danger scale that he could be considered an international disaster. Sure, he may have died eventually, but he took out a sixth of the population by the time that happened. Hearing he was alive, and only seven us of could stand against him... this spoke of utter defeat.

Fico traced her metallic table with her finger and the silence finally broke.

"This is my plan to take him down. First off, we will not attack on sight. We want to scout it out. Austin and Amy, I will leave you guys here on the ship. I'll fly above Earth, where he's going now, and we'll track his position. I need somebody sneaky. Kire, could you be sneaky enough?" She asked my trainer.

"I could be sneaky enough, but it seems we have a newbie here that I want to train accordingly. Cole, we'll have you perform the scouting." Kire told me.

"What?! I was killed by that man! He'll kill me again if he finds me!" I screamed out.

Zeka started laughing and I got mad, but Fico redirected my anger and told me to pay attention.

"Look, it is absolutely no secret that Sky is too powerful for us. That's why we are not fighting him. We are only stalling and finding out as much as possible, and then we'll strike when the time is right. Cole, this task is left to you. With your Incarnation, you'd be fine even if he attacked you." Fico told me.

"What was it called again? Incarnation of Healing?" Kire asked me, to which I nodded. It was an ability that I still didn't fully understand, but all I knew was that I couldn't die in this body, not as long as that Incarnation was activated.

"You'll go in, and if you get into any trouble, I pull you out with my Abilities. We're what's left of Quake, considering Illya was slain in combat, so let's pull ourselves to a victory, and stop Sky Asterio once and for all." Fico declared.

We all cheered with her and looked toward the board one more time.

[YOU ARE NOT SAFE, FICO]

It said.

"Fico, what is that?" I pointed toward the screen and she didn't seem too worried until a symbol was stamped onto it.

It looked like an intersecting A and a V.

A...V...?

Hi there! Welcome back to the Epilogue of The Trials Saga!

So... what does that mean?

Survival Evolved, since the beginning of the story, has been built around the core idea that "The First Trial" was composed of the main cast getting past all of the obstacles on the Isle, pushing off of the Glassed-Out Isle, and getting the last of the Arkians off of The Sanctuary as well. After all of this content has coalesced past previous chapters, side stories, and main plot points, we've reached the finish line for the First Saga of Survival Evolved.

The Trials Saga!

No way in hell are we done, or even close to it! Since the Epilogue of Volume III, my big announcement was that Survival Evolved will be entering its next Saga... with over four times the current volumes, all consisting of around 75-100 chapters each. I don't want to spoil the length of my novel, or the true ending, but your kids are going to love the ending.

Kidding, of course.

Survival Evolved is just getting started. I hope that Volume IV was at least enjoyable for some out there, as it did feel stale with the fighting (after around 65% of the volume is just fighting Illya, it gets old really fast.)

I hope this has set a new standard for the fights in the future... and gets you excited for Volume V of Survival Evolved.

If you've somehow made it to this part of my Series, again, thank you for reading. I hope it was worth your time, and I hope you continue to stay, there's so much more to see! That said, tomorrow, on the 25th of October, we will be starting the Incarnation Saga of Sky's story. Buckle up folks, as everything you once knew about Survival Evolved's Universe will change... for the better, or for worse.

Welcome to...

The Incarnation Saga.
