--Lia's Perspective--
"Here is your room. For now, you'll all sleep in the same room, and we'll have separate rooms for you tomorrow. It's been a long day, let's try to get some sleep!" Alatus told us, pumping her arm up and lightly shutting our door.
Once it closed, Dani walked ahead before anybody else, leading us into the room.
"It's weird here... the lights turn on when you touch this thing on the wall, and we don't have any fire to watch over. Is this fake or something?" Carl asked, tracing the wall with his finger.
The tan-painted room, filled with tons of mattresses pushed up against the wall, and layered with a nice carpet would act as our temporary base of operations. And, since we had the opportunity, I walked over to Shike, Belle, Alexia, and Boo after they sat down in a small circle.
"You guys knew Sky for a long time... much longer than us. What do you think about this situation?" I asked them, crouching down beside them.
"Where to start? It's been a long day and my muscles hurt. You should've seen us in The First Trial... Lia, right? We fought these Four Horsemen and we were awesome!" Belle shouted out.
"True, we did kick ass, but you should've seen Sky's Mom... she was like a Goddess, and even more powerful than both Dani and Illya during their fight. I would give anything to bring her back." Shike commented, looking up at the ceiling with his hands back.
"Ali Asterio was a force of nature. She broke the ground and rose it by manipulating gravity, and while doing that, she was able to turn her focus toward my mom and postpone the inevitable. If I didn't have a reason to be motivated after that fight, then that will always be my go-to." Boo said as well, hugging her knees while pushing her back against the wall.
"It's to my understanding you lost people in The First Trial. Who were-" I was cut off by Shike's hand raised up to my face.
"I don't mean to be rude, but please, let's not talk about that right now. Those wounds are still fresh and they aren't healed. Boo lost a lot, and we lost our friends. If you could, just for tonight, let us sit together, for our friends." Shike told me.
I nodded, got up, and stepped away while apologizing to return to the other group of people here.
"Now that we're here, let's talk about our future. Are we breaking Sky out of that prison or what?" I asked everybody, but Faith was the first to shake her head, then it was Dani.
"Dad says he wants to be in that jail, in order to stay out of trouble. He told Dani and I that we should help the group out here and we'll figure it out as we go. I think, for tonight, we should just rest." Faith said. She laid down on one of the mattresses and curled up to fall asleep to the noises coming from the open window across the room.
"Tavian and Dante, will they be okay? And, what about Amera?" I asked them.
"If they didn't tell us they were dead, I'm sure they'll be alright... but, I can't be sure. Amera took a pretty heavy hit, and Tavian and Dante looked like they were dead on The Isle before we left." Noboki chipped in, crossing her arms and legs while sitting down.
Moon held onto Aegis and Lisa was already asleep in the corner of the room. It looked like we were really winding down.
"Hey, Dani, can I ask you a question?" Shike looked up from his circle to gain her attention.
"Sure thing, what is it?" Dani responded, walking closer to them.
"When you were that Demon thing, you seemed to be more powerful than Sky in our world. How did you do that? Why were you so strong?" Shike asked her again. I could see Dani blush, while also trying to sincerely answer the question.
"Well, it's refined in me. Illya explained a lot, but the most important thing I got from her was that the System Corruption that Sky went through was a threshold for determining whether or not he was a suitable Deity candidate. I obtained my will to become a Deity through Sky with the help of Eo and others, and so, I was able to learn from his mistakes and patch up the holes he created while Corrupting his System, so I could use it a lot better than he can. But, did you see him?! He's already leagues above us again... we didn't even get a chance!" Dani ended her weirdly complex answer with a playfully annoyed comment.
"Now that Sky is so powerful, what's left to even fight us? He defeated The Deity, there's nothing left, is there?" Lily spoke up from her mattress, and Carl looked down at the floor before confessing.
"There's... more. Something very scary. Just looking at him made us all afraid." Carl was stopped by Faith while explaining by a punch in the gut.
"What do you mean? Faith, what is he talking about?" Dani asked her, looking down at Carl.
"Worrying about it will do us no good, as there's nothing left that we can do. It's just as you said, nothing can fight Dad, but we're still Arkians, and we aren't invincible. There's much to expand upon in our strength, and Dad has to work on improving himself even more for that person Carl was talking about. It doesn't concern us." Faith shortly said.
"We shouldn't pry. Comprehending what she's saying will only put unnecessary anxiety on us. We're safe, and we will always be safe now." Charlie said to the group.
"Let's just get sleep for the time being, and then tomorrow, we can visit the injured. We can do so much more with sleep." I told everybody.
"We deserve it!" Alex and Charlie both shouted out.
