Piper and Colt

"I see... we'll debunk that later on. Sky, I know it's still early, but I have two patients who are my biggest concern. I briefly mentioned them to you earlier, about the 'E' Mark that we all share on our bodies, but they belong to Piper and Colt. They're siblings, Colt is six years old, and Piper is eleven," Hiyochi started.

"It was about a month ago by now, but the destruction of a village out on the outskirts of the Ultima Precinct caused some severe injuries and almost widespread death across all citizens within it. Two of the survivors that we were able to get our hands on were Piper and Colt. Three others escaped. They were afraid of us, which is reasonable... but I wish I could've helped them..." Hiyochi mumbled.

"Why did you say it like that? 'Get your hands on'? What's up with that?" I asked her. She shrugged it off, blaming it on the morning brain still looming in her head.

"Anyway, Piper and Colt were severely injured. Piper will never walk again, and Colt was deafened in one ear and blinded completely. I thought it was a lost cause at first, we don't have the technology to fix them, but we can cater to the needs of their bodies. When you repaired Ruby-nee's arm, whether that was Avie or you, I felt a glimpse of hope. So, can you do it?" Hiyochi asked me.

In her desperation, she had gotten closer to me and I saw a tiny ounce of emotion behind her analytical eyes.

"I'll be honest with you, Hiyochi. I don't really purposefully repair things like that with the nerves and everything else in mind. It just happens. I've never repaired the ability to walk, but I have repaired my own eyesight and ability to hear. I will do what I can," I told her. Hiyochi smiled with excitement and jumped in front of me to open up a door we were standing at.

Within it stood a large room with a ton of toys in it. There were plushies and building blocks scattered, uncleaned from the last session of play it experienced. In the corner stood two young children looking out of the window.

Piper and Colt were both facing toward the window. Piper had blonde hair down to her hips and killer green eyes, while Colt had blonde hair and blue eyes, with a tint of green around his pupil. I'll admit, I thought he didn't have his eyes, but I was wrong. He just couldn't see out of them, apparently.

"Piper, Colt? Hey, I don't want you to be afraid... but I can help you now," Hiyochi told them both. She crouched down, grabbing onto the emotionless face of Piper, and the confused face of Colt respectively.

The only thing worse than understanding the torture some people have to endure, just based on bad luck, was seeing that same thing happen to children. They didn't deserve to be paralyzed or blinded. There was so much of the world to traverse and see... and that was taken from them in a destroyed village.

"Who is that...?" Piper asked in a weakened tone. It's strange to think that Faith and her were the same age. I could really tell they weren't really the same age just by the tone of her voice.

"If I told you my name, I think you would be more afraid than pleased that I'm here. I can help, that's all that's important." I said to them with a light smile.

Come on strands... don't let me down now...

I placed my hand lightly on her shoulder and tried my absolute hardest to imagine the golden strands moving into her lower body.

It was intact, but there was a brace around her lower spine, right near her lower back. Nothing like the injuries from Orion's War. Nothing was messy, but I guess that was due to Hiyochi's diligence.

The strands visibly traveled from her shoulder down to her body... and as soon as they reached her chest, with the 'E' Mark on it, I felt a tingle in my body. That tingle turned to dull pain, and eventually, into stabbing pain.

I held onto her shoulder, masking the pain with a tight grip on my left arm, and sent the strands further down her body.

It passed the brace and tightly secured more of the strands that branched off from the main one onto her back.

It took a few seconds for the pain to fade away, and before I knew it, Piper was back to wiggling her toes while sitting in her wheelchair. She was stunned, not even knowing what to say to me as I moved on to her brother.

Colt was unsure of my touch and what was going on, but he was much easier to heal completely than Piper. There was no pain for me, and soon after, I saw signs that Colt could see and hear again. He tilted his head all around as Hiyochi greeted Piper with a hug, this time on her feet.

I lowered my left arm and turned for the door, but before I could, Piper grabbed onto my shirt.

"Who... who are you? Not even Hiyochi-nee could help me... are you better than her...?" Piper asked me.

"Not really, I'm just a guy," I told her. Do I reveal my name?

"Piper, this man right here is Sky Asterio," Hiyochi said.

The fear in Piper's eyes lit up. She was old enough to understand that I wasn't a good man, but Colt wasn't. He came to thank me for fixing him, and Piper tried to hold him back, and far away from me.

"I hope that I've cheered you up, Piper. You don't have to like me, I understand, but I don't want you to suffer in that chair anymore. Take care," I told her, walking out of the room with my hands in my pockets.

I really do have good power, but using it like this and still being hated was starting to get annoying. I couldn't put off this anger onto other people, considering that they don't know my past and how I was hated by everybody on The Isle as well... but it was so easy to fall into that mindset.
