Sight on Zeka

--Dani's Perspective--

As Zeka crashed through the main gate and Zeka pulled the lever to reinforce it to block the rest of Quake, Illya and I came out of two nearby alleyways to face him head-on.

"Oh God... I have to look at you again?" Zeka asked, pushing his body up from the ground.

My Eye of Providence immediately triggered, watching him push strands through the ground to reach his teammates.

"Looks like you're concentrated on something else. I can see those strands of yours, Zeka," I told him.

Illya turned widely around me, keeping her right arm in front of my body while we both stared at him.

"Say the word, and I'll jump in. This loser stands no chance against either of us," Illya told me.

We certainly weren't friends, but we had compatible teamwork at this point.

"Before you both try to kill me... do you want to explain your betrayal to Quake, Illya?" Zeka asked.

"We were never friends, never going to be, never even dreamt of it. It's pathetic you thought we were, to be honest," Illya replied shortly. She seemed to be done talking, but Zeka was only beginning to start.

"And you, blondie, do you even know who you're defending? We're doing the world a favor, you know? Sky Asterio does not belong with the rest of you mortals, as he'll overpower you, dominate everybody on this Earth, and destroy everything you could ever love before you understand how badly you've messed up. First, it will be this city, and then, it will be this nation, and then, it will be this planet," Zeka prophesied

"And I'll be right beside him. I'm finished talking, I sort of don't like you already," I told the man.

"Sure, but I'm not second in Quake for nothing. Let's see what you two got," He said.

Zeka summoned a large staff with two blades at the end. Both blades faced opposite directions with only one sharp edge, meaning it was very versatile.

He could flip it around without straining his hand, so as he walked toward Illya and I, the blade scraped off of cement, creating sparks as it wildly spun around.

"Don't back out now," Illya said.

With a deep breath and a flick of her wrist, she summoned to golden sabers and ran at Zeka with a solidified gaze.

The spinning blade was deflected, clashed against, and pushed back as Illya got closer to him.

His body language... it was well-calculated. For having the appearance of an even younger teenager than us, he didn't waste any movement at all.

The Eye of Providence was tracking strands wildly, watching them skip across the ground, and fall into the sparks spraying everywhere as Illya was violently holding her ground against Zeka.

Strands are everywhere I see... when fighting Illya, they were just like this too, shortly before the ground exploded with them and turned the arena into a big mess. However, Zeka's ability doesn't involve destroying things. He heals them.

Just as I was lost in my own head, a blade came from his staff toward my head. I flinched instead of moving, and Illya caught the invisible strand connecting the end of the blade with her teeth and looked back at me with golden strands moving in her eyes. That look of hatred, it was well justified.

I flipped my own rapier around, watching the sunlight glisten in the blade as I closed the distance.

The blade from his staff skipped across the length of my rapier. He was trying to cut it in half!

I reinforced the length of the blade with strands, slashed it back in the air, and used the Eye of Providence to predict the path it would take.

I narrowly flipped over a horizontal strength, dodged out of the way of a vertical strike, and got as close as possible to Zeka while he was using the other blade to fight Illya.

He ducked out of the way and morphed into the ground, looking like he melted into a liquid, and vanished from the fight.

I scanned the ground with the Eye of Providence, watching a glistening bout of strands slowly travel to the gate.

"Illya, he's traveling to the gate, he's going to leave!" I shouted out to her.

She clicked her tongue, smashed her foot into the ground, and upturned the dirt about twenty-feet down, pulling him up with a glacier of moving icicles.

Blood shot out of her nose and a mess of text displayed in her right eye.

"Six minutes of lifespan reduction?! Just from that...? How much did Sky do that?" Illya mumbled to herself, grabbing onto Zeka with the ice and launching him back toward us.

"Two can play that game..." Illya muttered, raising her left hand up toward Zeka.

"INCARNATION OF NULL!!!" Illya screamed out.

I felt a surge of pressure emit through my bones, watching golden strands explode and wrap around Zeka.

"Already?! Are you sure?!" I yelled out to Illya.

"It doesn't matter how soon we do it. He regroups, and we might as well throw our plan in the garbage," Illya said. She pulled up her radio and explained the situation.

"Channel Sixty-Six Point Four, this is Illya, are you listening?" She spoke. I stood in front of her, keeping a close eye on Zeka and his weapon.

"We got ya, Illya. What is it? What do you want me to report?" The voice over the radio asked.

The voice was specifically meant to be on a different radio station than every one else, for the sake of collecting information, and giving it to whoever they deemed necessary. This was a team effort for once, it was Zealous versus Quake.

"I can't use the Incarnation of Null on Fico at the moment. She's unrestrained and dangerous, we need our best fighters on it. Can we do that?" Illya asked.

"I'll report to Sky and find out. I'm sure Group Orion can handle it," The voice said.

"Report to Sky after, this is a call he would make. Please, trust me on this," Illya said next. It went dead silent for a moment, and then the voice agreed, reporting to Group Orion next.

Illya set her radio on her hip and readjusted her body, looking at Zeka blow at his finger nails.

"Are you done playing make-believe yet?" Zeka asked us.
