--Lia's Perspective--
"You're going to kill me?" Kire asked. His smile diluted into a very serious face. His intentions... no matter how aligned with ours, still had violent intentions toward us, which meant this would be a battle to the death.
"Against an A.I., you stand no chance," Umbra muttered.
She didn't have super-speed as Avie did, so she ran at Kire with a completely normal stride. Her foot striking the ground caused a disruption, shaking it so Kire was always off-center with the lasers he put out to kill her.
Since Kire wasn't able to hold onto the steady ground, Umbra kicked the ground underneath her and launched herself into the air with her finger ready to flick once more.
"You should know, putting yourself in the air like that, only leads to misfortune. Although, you don't know how to avoid that, do you?" Kire asked.
His pupils dilated and his eyes turned a gleaming red color, as an even larger laser shot out of them. He must've understood that being in the air meant nothing for Umbra.
Her strength was unparalleled... I briefly watched Dani and her fight, and Dani looked like she was keeping up, but now that Umbra was fighting with the intent to kill, I didn't even want to get involved.
The laser shot through Umbra's shoulder, burning off her left ponytail, and digging into her body right above her heart. Kire missed her head, but he smiled as he hit her.
From behind, he was shoved forward by Ruby's shield push, and he almost fell to the ground.
"Really? You're not going to use a weapon?!" Kire asked her with red eyes again.
"No, this is a weapon, is it not?" Ruby asked in reply.
From the flick Umbra pushed out, it hit Kire and pushed the back of his head into the shield.
Then, the shield bounced off the pressure from the flick of Umbra's finger and launched Kire toward Umbra.
From there, she gripped his collar, flipped her whole body, and threw him into the ground so hard that it rumbled again, and cracked from the force.
Umbra landed on the ground and Kire stopped moving for a moment, to which she turned to look at Alatus and Fudo.
"Leave, go to the bunker. We will finish here. Lia, you're staying," Umbra told me.
I was confused to see her pick me, but nodded at her command, and prepared my dagger and needle.
"You're going to pick the girl over the guy who can change the way my lasers move? This should be good," Kire said, pushing himself up out of the ground.
Umbra moved over to me as Kire was annoyingly monologuing while standing up. I didn't care to pay attention to him as she took off her right gauntlet and handed it to me.
I put it on at her discretion, and it tightened around my forearm, displaying text in my eyes.
[Welcome, Lia Danafall]
[Availability For Abilities]
[ERORR] [ERROR] [Impulse]
[Charge Description]
[Charge energy from kinetic energy to release all at once]
I paused as I read the text in my eye, turning back to Umbra.
"This... this is Sky and Shike's ability... how do you...?" I couldn't finish the question before she covered her lip, and turned back to Kire.
"Alright, enough of your old man talking. Hope that body still works as it used to," Umbra said. She cracked her knuckles and turned to Ruby. The two nodded at each other, and they both broke into sprints.
I never knew Ruby to be a fighter, but she was agile and dexterous, two very important things when fighting with somebody as fit and talented as Umbra.
Umbra broke into a fistfight with Kire, and every time he hit her, I felt my forearm tingle. I assumed that when she struck Kire with her left hand or absorbed a hit with that gauntlet, it transferred to mine, but to harness that power so effectively and intelligently... Umbra was a force to be reckoned with.
Avie's sister has talent, I have to admit.
I took a turn going in as well after Umbra pushed Kire away with a solid hit to the stomach. I ran in with two daggers, swiping down with one at such an intense speed, my body flipped. While my body flipped, I turned the needle around and pushed it into his shoulder, and then the dagger cut his forearm so he stumbled.
After he stumbled, Ruby slammed the corner of her shield into his side, and Umbra struck the opposite part of his body with her palm, causing the ground to rumble, and another one of her classic shockwaves to fly out toward the sky.
"Watch your feet!" Kire shouted out.
Several lasers accumulated in his eyes and shot out like throwing needles at the floor. Umbra was hit a few times, and Ruby's shield blocked the rest.
The speed of a battle with three people, and two of which I've never fought with before, varied by a ton. I wasn't able to see when I should go in, or allow Umbra to attack with her overwhelming strength, it was all up in the air and very unpredictable.
Kire's battle capacity was entirely dependent on his eyes, so if I were to cut them out, or block them, he would be rendered useless. I needed that idea, that tool, something to block his eyes...
I ripped off part of my sleeve and started to wave it around in front of him. He watched it carefully, as if he thought a weapon would be hidden in it. While he was distracted, Umbra kicked him in the side, and Ruby slammed her shield into his back, pushing him into the shield and cornering him.
I wrapped the sleeve around his head, stuck it into his neck with the needle, and Umbra struck him in the chest with her left palm, while I maneuvered to the back and used my right palm in the same fashion.
My strike to his back sparked with an orange coloring, one that looked like the same bright, vibrant color that strands had, and it connected with Umbra's, to create a small explosion on his chest, which briefly knocked him unconscious.
