"Guys... go back inside..." I told Tavian, Dante, and Amera slowly, feeling the wound on my head get worse.
"Are you insane? We're not leaving you alone! We will fight Fico, not just you," Tavian asked. I could see in his eyes that he knew if he stayed, or even tried to fight with me, we would be playing right into Fico's plan.
"You're very courageous. I am apart of the strongest person in the Galaxy's army. Do you think you can beat a galactic being?" Fico asked me. I kept my mouth shut.
I wanted to tell her that it wasn't about beating her, it was about stopping her plan. I was very well aware our skill couldn't be measured in comparison, but if everybody got back inside, maybe Fico would reveal her true skill.
This weapon Sky left me, this Golden Saber I could control the function of, it was important to me. It was the one weapon that could stop her claws and that goop. It seemed like Fico was afraid of it, above all else.
The black shade over my vision was confusing as well, happening on a whim a little bit ago. I could almost predict her movements, and see things I couldn't before. I wondered if the mysterious power was radiating off of Fico and that's why I had it. But, if that were the case, why didn't Tavian have it?
"You're sure of this, Noboki? Maybe this is some elaborate plan where Fico is going to kill us all off one by one," Tavian told me.
"She won't... kill me..." I said to him. Fico looked impressed and almost annoyed that I would say such a thing. When Tavian turned to run for the gate, I felt Fico would attack.
I swung widely right behind him and intersected with her claws yet again. Her annoyed face entertained me and motivated me to push against her, causing the golden saber to light up for a mere moment when it was strong enough to push her back.
I repositioned myself, digging my feet into the ground, and holding the golden saber again while staring at Fico.
"You... are... annoying..." Fico muttered.
Tavian was able to run toward the gate, leaving Dante and Amera behind, and waiting for their opportunity.
Fico and I went back at it. I felt somehow more agile than before, and jumped over her next strike. I flipped my body, almost touching my head with hers, and slashing down toward the ground with the golden saber.
She dodged the hit and grabbed onto the saber beam, even if it scorched her hand and severed it after a second, and then swiped at me with claws like a cat. The swipes were fast and I felt like I was blocking before I even saw her elbow move. Fico was rough, quick, and durable, a terrible mix.
This felt like I was on loop, constantly dodging her hits, and talking to everybody, and then making one attack, I needed one, definitive moment where I could distract her.
I ran at her again, jumped out of the way of an attack, and quickly poked at her head. Fico was very capable of moving out of the way, and hit the handle to the saber.
She poked a hole in the side by the beam, and another beam shot out at where the hole was. It formed a guard on the saber it didn't have before, which meant that I could properly hold a clash with Fico.
And right after I thought about it, we were face to face, the claw shaking under the pressure she put under it. I felt my knees start to buckle and was luckily saved by Amera's Chakram.
"Go! I got you!" She yelled out. She started running for the gate, recalling, and throwing the Chakram on a loop to keep Fico at bay while Dante finally made his charge.
The two swords he used were put together as he rose them both over his right shoulder, coming down onto Fico.
It took only one claw to hold him back, and while she tried to impale his head with the other one, I slashed her arm off, flipped the saber, and plunged it into her stomach to stop her.
When I stabbed though, I felt a hard layer of metal right underneath her skin, as if she was robotic... this shouldn't be there, because I already stabbed her once before and nothing happened. Was this... an ability?
She held onto the saber as it scorched her hand, and underneath her skin, it turned to metal once more.
I almost dropped the saber out of fear, but quickly pulled it back and spun my body to launch another attack at her head.
She ducked, kicked my wrist, and grabbed onto the saber with her own hands.
She looked at me with an annoyed face yet again, a mood she seemed to know the best, and then grabbed onto the saber as it felt down to her hand.
It sparked in her hand again, and this time it really burned her as she winced in pain and dropped it out of instinct. When it hit the floor, it quickly hurried back into my hands, where it didn't hurt at all.
It seemed to recognize that Fico was the enemy and prevented her from holding it... what are strands? I never understood these things, ever since The Isle...
That man, Sky, and his strands... they seemed different than all the ones I've seen so far. It seemed like they were sentient, more so than the rest... what a curious thing.
Even these strands, not belonging to me, were able to recognize me to such a great extent. I was grateful and all... but why me? What's different about Fico and I?
After Amera ran in and I held Fico back with the burning saber, it was left to just me to hold her back. Everybody was away, which means her plan to keep us away from Zealous blew up in her face.
"Now that nobody is here to save you, I have no problem killing you," She told me.
