SK-AV

As soon as my question finished, Cole's body was quickly tightened into more blue strands, restricting all possible movement.

My eyes connected with Avie's from afar, and as soon as they did, she pulled the strand in her hand.

Parts of cement, dirt, and rock shot out of the ground as all strands rapidly released, slowly churning into one point of origin...

Cole.

He talked about Domin in the past... about Red in the past... but what he didn't anticipate is how far I've come.

The two of them, especially Domin, had taught me things that nobody else could've gotten through to me. It was our first interaction... setting the trap for the fox, when the deer jumped over our heads and we had to battle it head-on.

The secret to winning against Cole wasn't to beat him with raw power, even if I was perfectly capable of doing so... it was to beat him with the very thing he wanted from me.

My memories.

It was my one advantage over a foe so powerful... the memories... the things that made me so valuable in the first place.

Cole was restricted in midair as the blue strands encapsulated him. No abilities could be used when he was stuck, which is the first thing Avie tested with his arm.

Cole had fallen perfectly into the trap we laid out... but that wasn't the hard part... the hard part was coming to terms with what Avie and I had to do.

As Cole floated into midair, I shot off the ground with my legs, exerting more force than ever before, and holding a black and gold saber, infused with red and purple strands... it was the most advanced form of strand control I could manage.

I looked all around me as Avie started to shoot over to my side, looking to grab onto the bottom part of the saber's handle.

The sky was so blue... maybe even the same shade as the day I woke up on the Isle...

I know my friends can't hear me all the way up here... but if they could... I think I would tell them one last thing.

Avie's hand gripped around the top of my saber, and my head started to fill with thoughts.

I'll never grow old with Dani... I'll never see Lia bounce back and become the leader I know she can be... I'll never see Carl become as powerful as me... I'll never see Shike and Belle marry each other... I'll never see Boo smile as she did before... so much was fleeting... I never realized it until now.

System Synchronization is a move that would exert enough power to separate Cole and the person from four hundred years ago apart... it was a move that I didn't understand until I talked to Umbra and Avie about it.

It is a form of acceptance between Master and A.I. alike, and a semblance of who they would be as one person.

In The First Trial, Mom and Dad used System Synchronization against their fight with Providence. She was an Entity with enough power to keep The First Trial in check, and with the power needed to destroy her, it was the only way...

It had occurred to me that System Synchronization was impossible between two normal people, which meant that the A.I. had to fuse with the real person, the non-strand entity. In this case, Dad fused with Mom, meaning that he was the A.I. all along...

It is impossible between two non-strand entities...

But nothing is said about two A.I.s.

Earlier in the fight, I started to realize that since I was the one who held onto Sky Asterio's memories from four hundred years ago... I was a Vessel, just like Avie was to hold onto his speed...

I was an A.I.

When a Strand-Entity fuses into another, its being is slowly churned into the most powerful form of strands that there is. Dad gave Mom enough power to explosively enhance her abilities, so much so that Providence couldn't stand a chance. I wasn't sure how it worked, but what I did know was that to beat Cole, to make his mission worth nothing... is that all of the Vessels for Strength, Speed, Intelligence, and Memories couldn't be brought together.

Umbra and Hikari are far away...

Avie will be damaged.

And I will be dead.

The strands tightened around Cole's body, ripping apart skin and shattering bones as he squinted, looking up toward Avie and me.

"For all of my friends who have died for our future... I will become the Arkian who surpassed them all... Cole... you will feel the Wrath of Sky Asterio, The Deity of Wrath!" I screamed out. All of the emotion in my voice was captivated by the way I moved my arm, getting ready to sling it down toward Cole.

"COLE! You've messed with My Master for far too long... We will end you!" Avie screamed out next.

"LET'S GO, AVIE!"

"LET'S GO, SKY!"

We both shouted out in unison, blue strands and gold strands forming into each other, Avie and I took one last solid look at each other, letting one more smile loose as we focused back on Cole.

"SYSTEM SYNCHRONIZATION"

"SYSTEM SYNCHRONIZATION"

Our voices perfectly aligned, and text shot out into my vision.

The saber shot into multiple colors, possessing a blue hue to the black, gold, red, and purple mixture, and exploded into a violent, uncontrollable stream.

"HAAAAAAAAA"

"YAAHHHHHHH"

Avie and I both shrieked out as the saber collided with Cole, striking the top of his head, cutting into his body, and destroying all of the ground underneath him.

Everything was dug up, between pipelines, bouts of clay, sand, obsidian deep underground, and spewing magma shot up into the sky as I felt my body fuse together with Avie's.

The process of fusion was painful, almost too painful to bear. I screamed out, letting the strands crawl up my neck as I pulled down even more, letting the saber collide with Cole, and evaporate him from existence.
