"Um...what are you doing?!" Red bravely shouted. I was impressed with how silent she was staying as the abilities of everybody rapidly shot off. I wasn't sure of their true potential at this point either, but something happened in the black smoke that confused me greatly.
"Preparing to bring an old friend back. With the Seven White Stones, I have enough copies of your DNA to bring him back with a snap of my fingers. He can exist in two places at once as well, swapping bodies at will." Obsidia said.
When she said 'old friend' I immediately knew her goal was Eirikr.
I looked at Hikari with wide eyes and she turned distant, looking at the floor in complete regret.
"I need the last two White Stones, unfortunately. They're locked away on Oberon's neck. Come on, hand over Sky and Dani." Obsidia expectantly held out her hand.
"No...I won't let you touch my daughter." Oberon said.
I watched his face turn sour from the pressure Obsidia emitted, and she smiled, walking closer to him in disbelief. Her stride continued to move faster.
"We get way too confused about what my questions and demands are. Would you like another shot before you get killed?" She threatened.
"Speaking for myself...as I've fought my daughter...you wouldn't win. Even with all I seen you do. I suppose that this is me trying to preserve your life, Obsidia." Oberon said to her. She was unimpressed with his comments, crossing her arms in response.
"But...I did. I did before. Back when you daughter lost herself to the Wrath after I pierced her heart with motivation that never even belonged to her...your pleas to keep your daughter safe are meaningless. I share some of her DNA as well." Obsidia revealed.
With a flick of her fingers, Oberon was launched into the sky with reversed gravity. The ability that belonged to Ali Asterio, passed down to Dani, was now in her hands. And, on top of what she revealed, Obsidia gave me information only Fudo and I knew for sure.
The Goddess of Wrath, who once possessed Dani, was now known as Obsidia Carnivora.
She's been looming this entire time, waiting for her opportunity to come back. On a very large jump to conclusions, I had a strange feeling that Cynthia knew, and was doing this for one reason and one reason only. It seemed that from our awakening on The Pinnacle to this very moment was all at her control. It was frightening, hearing what kind of influence she had.
With Oberon disheartened, Obsidia walked beside him and held out her hands.
"Give me the Orbs of Pangea." She demanded once more. Oberon turned his head toward the other parents, nodding, and reaching for the first Orb on the very top of the chain.
"I asked for Dani, not Sky. Give me her first." Obsidia demanded once more.
"Are you incapable of having any remorse--"
"If I say yes will you shut the fuck up and give me the fucking orb?" Obsidia asked. She summoned a blade out of her Strand Arm and cut upward on Oberon's face, hitting him so hard that his skull was dug into and his brain pulsated in the open air.
"I can and will retrieve them from your corpse, you ragged old man." Obsidia reiterated, putting her foot on his shoulder to push him to the floor.
In one quick move, Obsidia moved the gravity of the remaining parents, except for Oberon and Novi, upward into the sky, keeping their movement until they passed the clouds.
"I hope they find what they're looking for up there. Perhaps their children? Who knows, really." Obsidia said. She dragged her foot further into Oberon's ribcage until he stopped breathing, pushing past the confines of his body and splattering his innards all over the field.
Red closed her eyes in fear of remembering Domin, just as I had began to think about. Obsidia, on the other hand, didn't stop, picking up the orbs as he looked down at his ruined body. She looked at them both, realizing that they were the complete same.
"So, it's a fifty-fifty chance I get Sky out of one of these... sounds like a chance I would want to take." Obsidia sarcastically said. In a fraction of a second, her hands were sent to the ground from what looked like the weight of the orbs.
"Hey hey...still fighting? Don't ya know, this is already hopeless? Come on Sky...I'm already leagues stronger than you. This world is mine and mine alone to do whatever the fuck I want in. It's my playground...why are you trying to fight that?" Obsidia asked.
As she continued to antagonize Sky, the orbs continued to get heavier and heavier, forcing Obsidia to sink into the ground underneath the dirt as she refused to let go. The two orbs were gaining more and more weight, forcing the ground to explode underneath her.
"You powerhouse! Even restrained in The Second Trial, you still have this much control over the physical world?! You may finally be a worthy opponent, Sky Asterio..." Obsidia smiled.
"SKY!" Red screamed at the absolute top of her lungs, turning the heads of everybody around her.
"I'M HERE! I'M OKAY! NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, I BELIEVE IN YOU, SKY ASTERIO!" She screamed.
Obsidia's head turned toward Red aggressively as the orbs continued to increase in strength. In a fraction of a second, Obsidia was sent miles underground, striking a tough rock brimming with magma. I couldn't see much beyond where I was stuck, but I knew it was the perfect time to escape.
"We need to get everybody out of here! Who can carry a body?" I yelled out. Khalil, before answering, picked up Shike and Belle, slinging them over his shoulders. I slid beside Alexia, picking her up, while Fudo carried Boo. Novi, Mizu, Red, and I all ran behind them. I took the helm, running in a way that would defend their positions in the worst case scenario occurred.
And it did.
"Woah woah... where are you going?!" An orange-haired man followed me with a fist charged behind his shoulder. From the strength alone, I could tell it would kill me.
I shot my gun at the ground to lift my body up at the same time a spear shot through his arm and sent him upward.
Ra had returned, with a strange spear coated in Red Strands.
