The stream that I visualized was fast and flowing as fast as my eye could see. Whenever I closed my eyes, I could witness the threshold of the water and what it carried with it when it moved. It was dangerous, just as my initial interpretation of Strands was.
Even though Essence Strands was my main focus, I couldn't help but notice that the stream of water was surrounding a central point in my perspective. The stream felt like it was looping in and out of my head as it threaded through millions of times. Catching on couldn't be difficult, but it certainly wasn't easy.
I placed my hand right into the stream of water, letting it disrupt the flow. The longer my hand sat in the water, the more randomized and erratic the streams of water threading through my head became. At best, it was a thousand streams before, but now it was millions upon millions. I couldn't grasp the notion of controlling all of it.
Until, one single moment, when everything became calm.
It was as if a gust of wind powerful enough to blow everything to a central point filled my mind, and the streams of water all simultaneously stopped.
I felt it encapsulate my hand, not as if it was ignoring my hand, but as if it was enforcing me. I felt the water climb up my forearm for a moment before it all dropped back down.
Something that nobody can accurately explain is how different each person is from one another. My integrity is different than Sky's. What he imagines is different than what I imagine, so getting to the source of what to think is the most pressing issue now.
However, I was able to gather a glimpse of what to do with my body. In Sky's eyes, he wanted to disrupt the flow of the stream. Even if that was his proper way of doing it, what helped more than disrupting was acknowledging. Allowing the stream to change me was the way to wield Strands.
After I came to the conclusion, Essence Strands materialized around my body. It was indisputable that I gained control after such a short amount of time.
"There you go!" Sky shouted. He clapped his hands as he set his water between his chest and arm. He smiled, sitting on a bench beside me and pointing at the strands. "Seems you found out all the secrets, didn't you? That it's not all about what I tell you, but what you make of it yourself?"
"So, that was on purpose? I figured as much. Yes, it helped a lot. The stream, at least for me, isn't a tool of obstruction, but one of great use. Streams and rapids and rivers can power water wheels, and if you look at Strands like a source that needs to be powered, it becomes a lot more clear. That's what I made of it, at least."
"That's an interesting way of thinking of it...maybe I can learn something from you. Well, I'm not sure what you can do with Essence Strands, but I know that you might be able to reinforce the use of your Ra Beam ability with it. Perhaps even surround it or concentrate the power by encasing it with Essence Strands. The possibilities are endless." Sky told me.
He was right. The only limit now that I could use Strands was my imagination. I took time to think about how odd it was that everything came to me so fast, but I couldn't help but feel lucky about my powers.
