In Which He Was So Cold

The men had settled into their seats, and several of them had turned around in their seats to attend to the refreshments.

After Paul and James had settled down, Lisa and Mona joined the group for dinner and took their places at the table.

James made the observation that "Your apparel is exactly the same as ours."

"I'm glad. Taylor has an excellent comprehension of what it is that I require. Lisa said, "The last thing I want is to draw attention to myself," and she made clear that this was her primary goal.

It appeared as though Paul and James were exchanging looks with one another.

James began by saying to Lisa, "Look, if anything about what we said or did upset you in any way, we are incredibly sorry. Whether it was something we said or something we did, we are truly sorry." Please accept our apologies."

Paul chimed in and said, "We didn't intend for it to come out that way."

Lisa observed, "I'm sure you had the best of intentions," as she placed a croissant on her plate and began nibbling on it. "I'm sure you had the best of intentions." "I have no doubt that you set out to do the right thing."

"We did," Paul and James said.

"Under those circumstances, there is no motive to extend an apology. Nevertheless, from this point forward, rather than speculating about whether or not I am someone's whore, why don't you come to ask me once if I am or am not? If I could, I'd like to participate in one or two of the jokes.

"Please accept our sincere sympathies, Lisa."

The response that Lisa provided was, "I heard you the first time, boys. Now, you may start eating. The croissant is not responsible for the production of any butter on its own.

Mona reiterated what had been spoken and then added, "I'm waiting for an apology, too," while folding her hands across her chest.

Why is this being done? After Lisa's inquiry, there was a giggle heard from the audience.

When they insult you, Mistress Lisa." "When they insult you." "When they show contempt for you. They are showing disrespect toward me by referring to you. Mona said, while gesticulating with her hands, that an apology was essential due to the insult that had been leveled.

Lisa's jaw was hanging open in shock as she uttered the question, and her brows were furrowed in confusion as she looked at her friend with astonishment. "Are you sure about that?"

"We're…" Lisa had just finished Paul's sentence when she shrugged her shoulders and held out her hand. Paul had just done speaking.

"Would you rather have an apology or an additional croissant?" "I'm sorry for the inconvenience." Lisa paused as she ran her forefinger around the rim of Mona's plate, making a circle with it.

"A croissant, of course. To answer your question, Mona, as she straightened her stance, she said, "However, I'd be pleased with anyone."

Mona, Lisa told her, "There is only room for one of those in your heart." Lisa arched one eyebrow as she said this.

Mona inhaled deeply before mumbling the word "croissant" after her pause.

Lisa giggled to herself as she devoured every delicious treat that was laid out on the table, from croissants to pancakes, half-boiled to scrambled eggs, kiwis, and chocolate strawberries, and she rounded everything off with a cappuccino.

"Am I the only one who finds everyone else to be behaving in an odd manner, or is it just me?" Lisa asked.

"No. Never in a million years. James shook his head and questioned, "What gave you that idea?" while responding with considerable trepidation.

"There's simply no getting around that. Because of my actions, the team got into some problems, and I should be the one to accept responsibility for that.

Paul's response to Lisa's question was "No." The speaker clarified that this was not the explanation given. He massaged his eyes and put his elbows on the table as he moved closer to the table and leaned in closer to it. "We aren't angry with Master John because of what he did; rather, we are angry with ourselves for the way we handled the situation. The way that we have treated you and our opinions about you should make us feel ashamed more than anything else. This is not what any of us had been instructed to do, and we cannot express how sad we are that tonight will be the last time that you are able to have a meal with us. We hope that you will forgive us for this.

James stated that "the majority of the reason last night was one of the nicest nights we've had since we've been on board was due of you."
