The Obvious Lie

"Last night was like a dream," Ronan said, breaking the silence between them. "For the first time, I have the slightest consciousness to call your name. How did you do it?"

"I was just talking to you," Arielle replied briefly.

"Oh, really? Just like that? Then, why were you suddenly there? And what about the scent? I had never smelled it, but it felt very familiar to me."

Ronan continued to ask without giving Arielle time to answer.

"And more importantly, did you really remember your promise?"

Arielle buried her burning face in the man's chest. Ronan chuckled. His hand did not stay still. It trailed on the girl's body before lifting her dress to her thighs. Arielle quickly stopped him.

"Nope."

"Why?" he asked, confused by Arielle sudden refusal.

"Remember your promise?"

"But no one will bother us here.."
