Hungry Children

Bursts of gunfire erupted from the rooftops. Multiple figures could be seen there aiming at the zombies down below. Han was one of them. Standing along the edge of the rooftop of a five-story building.

It was daytime now, and Jacob took them some distance away from the prison with the reasoning of finding zombies to practice on. It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't the complete truth either.

Jacob was going to teach them how to shoot and they were going to teach him the basics of cultivation. It didn't take time to convince his classmates at all, especially since he used his aura of death.

For Han, scaring people would always be amusing. Alicia and Cole were initially hesitant of teaching Jacob and yet when Han used his aura they couldn't even look at him. Andrew and Lewis however seemed just as excited as him to wield whatever gun they want, whenever they want.

"This is awesome! Right, Hanne?!"

Han paused shooting, then turned to look at Andrew who seemed to have gained respect for him ever since they saw him fight the special infected. This guy wreaked havoc on Hanne's life, heck, he even killed him. Now he shamelessly acted like they could be friends because Han was strong now, stronger than them at least. Han was sure that once they feel that they were stronger than Han then they will go back to their old ways.

Han would let them worship him, but befriend? Absolutely not.

"Don't act all buddy-buddy with me, motherfucker." A grim aura released as Han spoke those words, "Don't forget what you did to me all those years. All of you are guilty."

'Guilty of killing Hanne.'

It was just the six of them, he didn't need to suppress his level anymore. Mere level one martial artists and a thug that can shoot. There was no reason to act polite when you're the strongest among a group. Being level one martial artist merely meant that they can manipulate a tiny portion of this world's energy.

Han was level 2 now, the amount of energy he can wield through his body or energy manipulation was substantially more than theirs. He had a base strength of 100kg, if he reinforced it with energy then he could go 200kg. With just his strength he was sure he could squish their fragile skulls if he wanted.

The others tensed up. Andrew was speechless, and Han was resisting his urge to murder this disgusting piece of flesh. He couldn't kill them as they were all core disciples, but he can at least make them know that he was in charge.

"H-Hanne, that was back then! It's all in the past!"

"The past my ass." Han clenched his teeth, "You can worship me, be my lackey, but not friends, not buddies. I am your superior now, you got that?"

"You got that, motherfuckers?" Han turned to look at the others with his aura of death subtly pressing them down. It may not have been as overbearing as the Patriarch's aura but it made them feel like Han would actually kill them in the worst ways. It was only natural for them to be intimidated, Han was a killer, and he was even a level higher than them.

Jacob, the mere human was sweating buckets, it dripped down his tattooed face. He tried to be stoic, but trying was not the same as being. When faced with kids that could make you feel death, a person wouldn't really be able to react well.

"Continue on shooting. I have made myself clear." Han continued shooting down at the zombies. The sound of the rapid gunfire beside his ears was soothing, and the sight of dropping zombies couldn't help but make him smile thinly.

Guns were awesome. And just imagining how it could be integrated with martial combat was something Han was looking forward to.

From his peripheral vision, he could see the others also go back to shooting but they were more subdued. Andrew was operating an Ak47, Cole and Lewis had AR-15s while Alicia had an AUG. Despite not being body cultivators, they still had the base strength of 25 kilograms however, most they could do was 50kg, and that was if they were giving it their absolute all. Still, their strength was more than enough to withstand the recoil.

Jacob was there giving out tips and tricks throughout the day, Han was as attentive as he could be while firing. He was apparently what was called 'trigger happy' according to Jacob. Han was like a child who had found a new toy as he burst all of his bullets down below, Han had to admit it was satisfying.

"You're going to run out of ammo at that rate, kid." Jacob lectured, "If zombies exist everywhere then ammo will eventually become rarer."

"You're right." Han turned to look at him and released a breeze of freezing cold. "But that's only a problem for people like you."

As he said the words, Ice shards started to appear around him. With a gesture of his hands, ice rained down on every living being below. Han may not be perfect with his aim when wielding guns, but with the Frozen Nirvana, it was a whole different matter.

The others couldn't help but gawk at Han's precise skill with the Frozen Nirvana. The zombies were completely shredded by the numerous ice spikes, body after body was filled with holes that emitted freezing air. When he was done, blood-red crystals were scattered on the streets besides hundreds of zombie bodies. The pile of zombies he had gathered was more than they had killed with guns the whole day.

Andrew who he had just admonished had resentment hidden in his eyes earlier, but when he saw the difference between their abilities it disappeared as fast as it could. He had enough brains to realize that going against Han was courting death.

"He's a prodigy." Han could hear Cole whisper to Lewis as they too were in awe.

Funny enough, they weren't completely wrong. All dual cultivators could only be prodigies, and Han was exactly that even in his past world. However, this time, he wasn't just a genius but he also had the advantage of being centuries older than them. If he couldn't even beat them in skill then he should just stop cultivating and plant potatoes for a living.

Jacob peered down at the massacre and whistled. In his eyes were desire and longing for such a power. "Jesus kid, I don't think the zombies are of any threat anymore."

Han wasn't sure if that statement was correct. From afar Han could see a distant street was more crowded. There were people fighting the zombies with martial arts. Tumbling and jumping through the streetlights just as he did, as they battled with the undead. If they were all careful and skilled as Han then good. But if they were stupid enough to get infected...

Infected cultivators. That was a terrifying possibility he had to stop if possible. Once zombies like that emerge, he would actually have to struggle to survive.

"Alright, someone teach Jacob for me, I'm going to check something out." Han hollered as he strapped on his gun and jogged towards the ladders by the side of the building. Jacob seemed rather deflated that Han wasn't going to teach him but he could only sigh as Han didn't give a fuck. It was Lewis that stepped up to teach him.

Jacob was that guy who tried to use Amelia for his pleasure. When he came to them earlier, looking all disciplined and serious Han couldn't deny that his acting was splendid. This guy was just like Andrew, or rather just like him. Acting nice until they give you what you want.

Down below he arrived, and since they pretty much cleaned this area of zombies, traveling through it was a breeze. Han could run as fast as a car now with his strong legs, in a couple of minutes he arrived near the battlefield of cultivators and undead which was one kilometer away.

However, when he arrived it was quiet. In the mere minutes that he took to get there, all the zombies and the cultivators he saw from the rooftop were gone. Han checked to see if he was in the right spot, he turned to look at the five-story building where he came from, and indeed. This was the place.

Afar on the five-story building, he could see the tiny figures of the core disciples and Jacob moving frantically. Their hands were in the air and Han could make out that their lips were moving. Screaming something.

His spine tingled. Han quickly turned his head, scanning all directions for anything he could have missed. Anything at all. He readied his RPK in his hand as his breathing paced itself for action. His eyes noticed the multiple blood smears on the concrete and decided to investigate.

The building in front of him seemed to be a preschool. There were slides, and swings, decorated with guts and gore. There were several bodies with their guts yanked out from within their stomachs. Fortunately, he didn't see any corpses of children, but the pools of blood around him still made him fear for the fates of the preschoolers. His eyes trailed the blood smears as they curved along the pavement, onto the walls, and up towards the rooftops. Where hundreds of tiny heads were peering at him.

Han's insides twisted. He eyed the dead eyes of the zombie children as slowly he raised his foot and stepped backwards. They looked at him with heads tilted to the side and blood dripping from the corner of their lips as if they were looking at a new toy. Step by step, with his hands clutching at his RPK he backed away. Gradually the distance between Han and the building was growing, and it seemed as if Han could retreat with no trouble at all.

That was what he thought until an ice shard was shot through the air, and into the heads of one of those infected children. The lips of the infected children gaped open, tearing their cheeks until Han could see the back of their throats clearly as they let out an ear-piercing screech.

Han bolted. With all the speed he can muster. In the distance, he could already see the others rushing down the ladder. Everybody started running away as soon as their feet met the ground. The motherfuckers didn't even turn to look at him. Han twisted his neck to look over his shoulder, and what he saw was a horde of mini zombies surging in his direction, all screeching as they chase on all fours like rabid dogs.

These things were fast, but not as fast as Han. Steadily, the distance between Han and the infected children were increasing, and far in front of him, he could finally see the prison. The rest were still running through the open field, and Han even caught up to them. He reached the prison gates before anyone else could.

"Open the gates!" Han yelled, but he had already jumped on top of the tall prison walls. The thugs guarding the gate were baffled, but Han was a core disciple, it was understandable for him to do impossible things, what wasn't understandable was the hordes of screeching tiny zombies approaching from afar. Nearing with a frightening speed.

Han already began firing at the infected children with no hesitation at all. It didn't matter that they were once children, what mattered was that they were dead, and Han wouldn't be found giving these things any bit of misplaced sympathy.

The gates were open, and many guards started shooting at those infected children but they were too many, and the zombies were resilient, taking in bullets like sponges. Andrew and the others were puffing and huffing that they weren't even running straight anymore. However, as level 1 martial warriors, they would still be able to reach the prison gates in time.

Andrew came first, he stumbled through the gates and fell on the floor panting. Followed by Alicia then Cole. The only people not inside yet were Lewis and Jacob. The zombies were already behind them now. If they fail to run faster any one of them could get bit.

Lewis was a big kid, or in simpler terms, a level 1 martial warrior fatass, while Jacob although human had a healthy lean adult body. However, a human was still a human, Lewis was a tad bit faster than Jacob and Jacob knew this.

As both bodies hastened through the gap between the gates. Jacob yanked Lewis backward which led to him plunging straight onto the screeching little zombies. Jacob dived through the doors and the gates were instantly shut.

Han didn't care for his death. But not everyone was as detached as Han.

"Lewis!" Cole cried out as he reached out towards the gates.
