Lecherous Pig

May's, as a restaurant, had high level of security and confidentiality. The place was usually frequented by the elites, and most needed to reserve a place beforehand unless they had special privileges.

Although Valerie trusted the security here, one couldn't be too careful. That's why, she placed a pair of sunglass and pushed down a hat on Lucian before letting him out of the car.

However, finding it to be ugly, Lucian wasted no second in removing them before striding into the restaurant. His rebellious attitude made Valerie shake her head and keep a cautious watch.

Once they entered the restaurant, Leslie stood up and waved her hand at them, indicating where their table was. Valerie followed Lucian to the seat.

Lucian noticed the not-so-subtle glare Leslie threw at him before her worry filled gaze fell on Valerie, and she asked, "You didn't get hurt, right?"

Valerie shook her head before she picked up the menu.

Leslie then looked at Lucian and reprimanded, "Are you foolish? Don't you have common sense? Can't you think twice before acting recklessly? Everyone is out to get you! You could have gotten Valerie into trouble. She didn't even have her breakfast due to you—"

"Leslie, that's enough," Valerie said warningly as her stern eyes fell on Leslie. Pouting, Leslie shut her mouth and continued to stare fiercely at Lucian.

Lucian didn't mind it. In fact, he found it funny. It reminded him of a mother hen protecting its chick although referring to Valerie as a chick was little too strange.

"She shouldn't have been so meddlesome. It's really annoying." Lucian shrugged his shoulder.

"Meddlesome? Annoying? You use those words towards someone who was worried like crazy for you." Leslie scowled.

As if he heard something amusing, Lucian's eyes twinkled, and he chuckled before shifting his gaze towards Valerie, raising one of his eyebrows, silently questioning her so-called worry for him. There was a hint of mock in his gaze.

Valerie pressed on to her forehead out of irritation.

"Do you want to leave, Leslie?"

Leslie felt indignant, but Valerie's partiality towards Lucian was already known to her. That's why, she could only swallow her grievances and decide to handle them without Valerie's presence.

Following that, they made their orders, and other than Leslie trying to make a conversation with Valerie, silence ensued. Lucian concentrated on his phone with that signature smile of his playing on his lips.

After that, the waiter arrived with their meals. And no one conversed during eating. Their attention, however, shifted when Leslie's name was called.

"Leslie Parker, how long had it been?" Amusement was present in that tone.

This made Leslie whip her head, and a scowl etched on to her face due to person in front of her. She clenched her hand into a tight fist before enunciating with disgust: "Damian."

Her jaw clenched.

"Glad to see that you remember me."

A smile sat on his face as he extended his hand, most likely to pat Leslie, but Leslie moved back, avoiding his touch.

"Keep your hands to yourself," she shot at him.

The man wasn't offended. He pulled his hand back before his eyes fell on Valerie. The grin on his face grew wider, and although it seemed friendly, that gaze of his didn't hide his malicious intent. It was as though he was openly provoking Valerie.

"Ms. Davies, congratulations on your engagement. Hopefully, it is filled with joy. We wouldn't want anything to ruin it, right?"

The impression of Damian in Valerie's mind was vague. She hardly had idea on why he showed hostility towards her, but she didn't care. This was a regular occurrence. The emotions of anyone other than Lucian didn't matter to her.

Beside Damian stood Charlotte, and her attention was on Lucian.

"Lucian, it had been a long time since we properly talked. We should find time to catch up."

A flirtatious smile formed on his face before he responded, "Certainly. I can never refuse a beautiful lady."

This made Leslie glare at Lucian and comment, "Lecherous Pig!"

Valerie did go stiff for a second, but she chose to pretend that this situation had nothing to do with her. Feigning that usual nonchalance, she paid attention to the waffles in front of her.
