That did make her fall into silence for a second, not having any answers to give before she responded, "I will figure something out."

At this, Lucian released a sigh and leaned against the couch as he voiced out, "Feels pretty shitty, you know?"

She raised one of her eyebrows at that, waiting for him to elaborate when he added, "It's just you are always able to support me, and when it comes to your troubles, I am helpless."

Valerie didn't know whether or not Lucian was serious.

However, she replied, "That's not it. You did a lot for me. You being by my side is support itself. At least I am not lonely and have someone to open up to."
