After his long winded speech King Charles glanced up at his daughter and raised his brows prompting her to ask the question she had earlier. " Lexi would you like to ask me or your mother anything ?"

" No daddy, I just wanted to remind you that we have agreed to wait before we get married and you don't need to worry about us leaving today and getting hitched in the next hour."

King Charles chuckled " Well that's good to know sweetie and I hope you know that all your mother and I want is for you to be happy. Now Alexander what about you would you like to ask me or Victoria any question."

" No sir, I don't have any question. However I just want you and Queen Victoria to know that I do have true feelings for your daughter otherwise I wouldn't be here. And I really hope that I'm the man that can make her happy." Alex confessed as he reached over the chair arm in serch of Lexi's hand.

Noticing that small action King Charles smiled " I already know that son, now the two of you just take your time and get to know each other. And if for some reason you decide to postpone the wedding longer then the six month courtship time don't feel pressured or rushed just relax and enjoy your time. It's fine with me and her mother Lexi can stay with you as long as she wants to we have no problem with that."

King Charles glanced over towards Lexi looking for any signs of fear or hesitation in her eyes .When he seen Lexi seemed relaxed and calm he gave her a reassuring smile.

"I guess if nether of you have anything else to say, I think we're done here."King Charles took a deep breath turning his attention back to Alex "If you would like Alexander ,you can stay the night here and start fresh in the morning."

"Thank you for your hospitality King Charles, but I believe we will be heading back now." Alex replied standing up and reaching over to help Lexi stand " We may not reach Eddington castle tonight If Princess Alexis gets tired we will stop along the way so that she can get a proper nights sleep."

"Well in that case I guess you two need to head out. Just be safe and make sure to give us a call whenever the two of you arrive at Eddington castle." King Charles smiled as he stood and walked towards the door ,to have everyone else follow him down the long hallway to the grand entrance.

In front of Whitley Castles ,Lexi's luggage was already being loaded into the trunk of a black limousine. Everyone was waiting along side the driveway to say good bye. Each of her family members hugged her tightly and kissed her cheek.

Karmen and Ethan both placed kisses on her cheek and rubbed her shoulders reminding her how much they would miss her." Lexi send me a text when you get there so I know you're safe. Don't forget to call ." Karmen reminded her, trying to sound cheerful and keep her composure.

"If for any reason things don't work out don't let your pride stop you from calling me. I'll come fly you home no questions ask.If you need time to be alone you can stay at my house in the country as long as you want." Ethan whispered in her ear as he pulled her closer in a tight hug.

Lexi nodded in agreement hugging him tighter. She already knew Ethan would always have her back but it warmed her heart to hear him say it.

King Alexander put his hand out for King Charles ,offering him a reassurance ,"Please don't worry, I will be sure to comply with all her wishes."

" I know you will son," King Charles replied, replacing the hand shake with a more personal firm grip on Alex's shoulder "she shouldn't give you to many problems. Just be firm and don't spoil her too much "king Charles teased.

" I can't promise not to spoil her, but I'll try." Alex replied with a hardy chuckle.

The back door of the luxurious black limousine was held open by the driver for King Alexander to enter the car . After Lexi's last good bye to her mother she also entered the car.

As the car headed down the long drive way, Lexi looked out the window trying to imprint everything into her memory. She knew it would be a long time before she could return to the place where she grew up and played as a child with her two best friends Karmen and Ethan.

When the car pulled onto the highway she sat quietly with her hands in her lap, peeking up through her long eyelashes to look at King Alexander's handsome face. Which to this day she had only seen on a computer screen or in a magazine. After taking in all his gorgeous features she realized he's much more handsome in person.

On the computer screen in her father's office she wasn't able to see the alluring forest green color surrounding the halo of gold in his captivating hazel eyes.

Quickly glancing over she scanned the rest of his appearance to see what else she might have missed.She noticed his dark black hair was combed neatly to the side, giving him a polished and professional appearance. And his well defined nose and chiseled jaw made him look like a professional model.

Unintentionally she leaned closer towards him to get a better look at his long dark eyelashes that surrounded those gorgeous hazel eyes. She leaned back again slightly confused, pondering if perhaps he's vain and wearing fake eyelashes. Because there's no way those could actually be his real eyelashes,right?

Giggling to herself ,she brushed that thought to the side and continued to admire his tanned smooth skin and his sexy plump lips ,that looked like they were made to be kissed. But as perfect as his unearthly appearance seemed to be something signaled to her he was a dangerous creature.

The aura this gorgeous man gave off was smoldering hot and powerful as if his gaze alone could burn buildings down. Just that thought alone sent a tingly sensation down her spine and made her shiver a little.

Her quiet behavior worried Alex, they had been talking to each other for a while now. She always laughed and flirted with him when they talk to each other on the phone. He ask himself ,was she having second thoughts, he sure hoped not. Her silence made him wondered if it was possible that he was the only one who felt the little spark between them.

Being hopeful and unable to take the uncomfortable silence any longer Alex turned in the seat so that he could look at her beautiful face.

With the intention to start a conversation to break the silence and ease the tension between them.

"Well Princess tell me about yourself so that we can get to know each other better ." He murmured just to get the ball rolling

Caught off guard Lexi nervously began blurting out basic information about herself like she was going to a job interview. "Well your Majesty my name is Princess Alexis Carolina Whitley, but.... "she trailed off a little "My friends and family call me Lexi. Today's my birthday ,I turned 21 today . I have a BA in Psychology ."

Alex chuckled,," Well that's all good to know , but if you don't recall you have already told me that much about yourself . I would like to know about you . What you like, what you don't like, things that make you happy, things that really piss you off .That's what I mean by getting to know each other" He smiled a devilish smile "Now Princess let's start over, tell me about yourself."


Her lips formed an O, still nervous she started babbling again with out a second thought to what she was actually saying . "Well your Majesty, I like music and art,I like to read and ride my horse . I like to eat junk food, I like to swim, I like to go hunting and fishing with my father . I like going skiing with my friends or just hanging out with them in my room listening to music. I like to dance , I like going to my family's cottage on the lake and,I really don't know what else I can tell you."

Determined to get back how things were when they talk on the phone everyday Alex kept asking questions " It seems you like the outdoors quite a bit .Do you not like indoor activities or do you just find them to restricting?"

"Well your Majesty,I really don't spend much time inside ."

"Lexi why are you being so formal with me today .If you plan to marry me let's start by you addressing me as Alex like you did when we talked on the phone. I plan to have a real marriage,full of respect, love and passion. And I really couldn't get used to you screaming out Your Majesty in the heat of passion".

Her eyes bugged a little as she was left speechless for a second. She shook her head to clear her mind, shouting out ."YOUR MAJESTY!! I mean Alex, I just meet you.."

Alex chuckled "Have we not been talking about getting married for over a year now?" He ask, Raising his brows slightly he continued . "You are my fiancée right? Look I like going forward, I don't have time for games and lies. I will always be honest with you. I will tell you if I like something or if I don't. I don't ever Plan for us to go to sleep at night angry with each other. I want us to share everything, talk any problems we have out. So if you find me a little crude that's just me being honest and I want you to do the same. Now tell me are you having second thoughts about marrying me? Is that the reason you have stopped calling me by my name?"

" Alex I will try to be more open, and yes I still want to marry you.It's just I've never talked to anybody about everything in my life before except my best friend Karmen."

"Sweetheart if you don't tell me what you want how can I make you happy. You tell me almost daily you want to marry me. But I think your father is right we need this time together before we get married. I think you are a beautiful sexy woman and yes, I would marry you today. But your not ready yet."

Before Lexi could think of anything else to say the car came to a stop. And the driver opened the door for them to step out Alex exited first, holding his hand out for Lexi to take .

She put her warm hand in his cold one shivering a little before turning in the seat to gracefully exit the car one sexy long leg after the other.

Alex stood almost spellbound as her long sexy legs gracefully came into his view making naughty thoughts run through his mind about how good it's going to feel to have those beautiful legs wrapped around his waist every night.

With a devilish smile plastered on his handsome face his eyes traveled up her lean body until meeting her beautiful ocean blue eyes ." I guess it's time for our first date sweetheart . Come let's eat dinner." He murmured politely without a hint of the lust he was feeling for the tall sexy girl in front of him at the moment.

Smiling brightly Lexi looped her arm through his as they stepped inside the exclusive luxurious restaurant. Where the owner stood at the entrance waiting to take them to a private room in the back .

He bowed his head greeting the Vampire King, immediately leading them to a private room in the back of the restaurant. Where Alex pulled the chair out for her to set down first, taking a seat beside her. He slipped his hand over the top of hers and gave it a slight squeeze.

Lexi was a little startled at first from how cold his hand was and by the sudden touch. However she didn't jump or pull back her hand, she ask " Where are we?"wondering how much further they needed to travel before they reached his Castle in Evanston..

"Is this restaurant not to your liking sweetheart?" He ask slightly worried, he had told his assistant to make reservations at a restaurant that catered to humans of the highest social standing.

Pondering his question for a moment , she had never been to very many restaurants and she wasn't sure if she liked this one. She replied"I really don't know , this is the first time I have ever been here. My family rarely eats out,I have only eaten out with my friends Karmen and Ethan when we go to the mountains on ski trips. Or if we go to my family's cabin on the lake "

Brushing his thumb over the top of her hand , he ask . "sweetheart would you like to go out on dates? A vampire King has a lot more freedom to go out to restaurants and theaters than a human King."

Intrigued by the thought of going out on dates,like a normal couple she babbled uncomfortably. " Oh lord Alex, I never thought it could ever be possible for us to just go out like a normal couple. She breathed " that would be so nice."

" Sweetheart a human King needs to be more careful, they are easily poisoned or killed , vampires can't be poisoned or killed so easily. He explained ,"We have much less to worry about when we go out in public.. And you, my sweet Pet ,don't need to worry because I will keep you safe by my side .If you think this is something you would like to do we can certainly go out on more dates."


She was a little surprised she didn't expect Alex to be so kind and even want to take the time to go out on dates .They had already agreed to get married. She thought he would skip all the romance and just hang out with her talking for a couple of hours in the evening before they went to bed at night.

But instead he was so soft spoken and romantic ,she had been told Vampires were ruthless cold hearted creatures .But Alex was kind, he did speak his mind but he also encouraged her to do the same. And now he told her they could go out on dates like normal people. It's just to good to be true.
"Alex I think that might be fun . I have never been on a date before."


"Sweetheart It's a great honor to be your first date and today is your birthday . Would you like to celebrate with some champagne or maybe a fine wine with your dinner?"

Before Lexi could answer, a waiter came to take their order. Alex ordered his favorite a blue rare ribeye steak and Lexi ordered grilled chicken with seasoned vegetables . Before the waiter could leave Alex ordered a bottle of wine and a bottle of champagne with a charcuterie board and a scrumptious tray of strawberries .

The waiter brought the strawberry and champagne first. He poured the champagne into beautiful crystal glasses quickly leaving the room to go get the charcuterie board and wine.

Alex picked up one of the juicy strawberries bringing it close to her mouth . His voice was low and sexy dripping with sweetness. "Here my sweet try a strawberry with your champagne . It's really a delicious combination ."
