" Call my driver around to the front I'm taking Lexi home to get her cleaned up, meet me in the morning." He ordered

stalking out of the restaurant with Lexi in his arms.

When Alex reached the front of the restaurant the driver was already waiting with the car door open. Alex placed her on the seat and quickly made his way around to the other side and hopped into the car pulling her close to his chest. "To the castle" he ordered the driver and immediately the limousine started speeding off through the bustling city towards Eddington castle.

Alex tried to wake her up,he called her name and shook her gently but got no response. She felt cold and her heart was beating to fast. Realizing she was in shock he reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out his phone to call the castle physician.

However before he dialed the number and the car came closer to the castle her heart beat slowly went back to normal, but her skin still felt cold . Alex hung up his phone and took off his jacket wrapping it around her as he vigorously rubbed her shoulders in an effort to warm her up.

When the car stopped the driver hopped out and ran to the other side holding the door open for Alex to climb out with the Princess in his arms.

Alex sprung from the back seat rushing her to the bedroom . He stepped inside kicking the door closed behind him before laying her down on the bed. Immediately he headed to the bathroom and turned on the shower .

He swiftly undressed himself, and walked back to the bedroom to take her beautiful black velvet dress off .After he removed her dress he gathered her in his arms stepping into the shower, he set down on the shower bench holding her in his lap.

Carefully he washed the blood from her face and neck inspecting every inch of her skin to make sure she didn't have any puncture wounds.

He washed her hair and wrapped her in a towel carrying her back to the bed ,covering her with a warm blanket. He laid down beside her pulling her into his arms. He laid in the darkness listening to the sound of her heart beat , watching her chest rise and fall as she took steady breaths and her body temperature went back to normal.

The next morning when Lexi woke up she was pulled into Alex's warm embrace , she heard his calm voice and glanced up into his gorgeous hazel eyes.

"Good morning sweetheart ,are you ok?" He ask in a deep husky voice full of love and concern.

Still shaken up from what happened last night she buried her face into his chest taking in a deep breath to fill her lungs with his rich manly scent and nodded her head for a yes with out speaking.

Alex caressed her back and kissed the top of her head . His voice was warm and comforting as he spoke to her in a soothing gentle tone "If you want to talk about it we can "

Without raising her head she mumbled into his chest,"Was that man trying to kill me?"

"Yes sweetheart he was." He replied as he ran his large hands up and down her spine in a gentle calming manner.

"Why Alex, why would he want to kill me?" She squeaked her voice still a little shaky.

"Because you're marrying me sweetheart, have you not figured it out yet?"

She looked up puzzled

"Tell me sweetheart, who are you?"He ask as he gazed into her innocent clear blue eyes.

Not understanding what he wanted her to realize she replied "You know who I am Alex."

"Yes I know sweetheart, but if you say it out loud and think about it, you will figure it out. Now tell me darling , who are you?" He ask her again

"Crown Princess Alexis Whitley "she whispered listened to her own voice as she said her name.

"That's right sweetheart, Now tell me who I am." Alex coaxed her

Looking up a little confused, she mumbled.

"King Alexander Eddington"

"That's right sweetheart, now think about it."

She creased her brows together, looking as though she was deep in thought , Alex continued ."Ok sweetheart let me help you some more , When we have a child who will that child be?"

She closed her eyes sucking in a deep breath , uttering the words into his chest.

"Crown Princess or Prince of Elgin. "

"Yes sweetheart, an Emperor or Empress will be born . But more then that our child will be a half blood."

"Alex pulled her up so that he could look her in the eyes and ask her firmly."Do you still want to marry me?"

She wrapped her arms around his neck kissing him passionately ,and with no doubt in her voice she said "Yes Alex, I want to marry you."

Alex smiled devilishly "Sweetheart you do realize we're naked, right?"

She looked down at her breast mashed against his muscular chest and her her eyes went wide. She stuttered slightly "A..Alex where are our clothes?"

He Pointed to a pile of clothes on the floor

"Right there sweetheart covered in blood ."

Her hand flies up to her neck forgetting about her state of undress for the moment with a worried look on her face,she frantically ask " did he bite me?"

"No sweetheart, I checked last night when I gave you a shower. The blood that was on you was his blood. That's why I don't want you to go anywhere with out me . I was worried last night because your skin was cold. I thought he might have put a small hole in your carotid artery or your Jugular vein." He explained hoping she understands how important it is for her not to go outside the castle without him.

"If he had bite me would it have killed me?"She ask,her voice cracking slightly.

"Sweetheart a vampire can kill you, but he would need to suck you dry or rip your carotid artery or your jugular vein. Just the bite from a vampire won't kill you. The saliva from a vampire will close the wound and you won't keep bleeding. However you will have a mark on your neck that looks like two little pin holes . What I mean by suck you dry is drink enough of your blood to cause your heart to stop, not every drop of blood in your body. If a vampire only drank a pint of your blood it would be like giving a blood donation,it wouldn't hurt you at all. Do you understand sweetheart ?"

"Yes, I think so."she muttered as she looked down to see he was now gently holding onto her hand rubbing his thumb on the inside of her palm in a calming motion.

"It's ok sweetheart, I will show you some other time ,right now it would just scare you. Are you ok now ,or do you need me to explain anything else?" He ask , continuing to rub the calming circles into her palm.

Lexi stared down at their In twined hands, taking a deep breath she ask "Why was that mans eyes red?"And Uh... Alex why were your eyes blue ? Not like my eyes . Yours were Uh ..Glowing blue?"

"Sweetheart a vampires eyes turn red when their senses are heightened, it's a natural response for a vampire . And for that same reason my eyes turned blue . The only vampires you will see with blue eyes like that is me and Jackson. It's part of our Royal blood line, and hopefully you will never see my eyes turn blue again sweetheart. Did they scare you? "

"No when you pulled that man's head off scared me, and all his blood went in my face."

Alex grimaced he had forgotten about her nightmare and fear of blood. He pulled her into his chest and stroked her back whispering softly into her ear "I know sweetheart, it's going to be ok you're safe now and I'll stay right here tonight to watch over you while you sleep tonight. So just don't think about it,Okay."

" Okay "

"Good we need to get dressed ,we have a public announcement to make at ten o'clock this morning. And Jackson is going to meet us for breakfast ,he stayed at the restaurant last night to gather the information I needed. Julie will come help you, then I will come back and escort you to the dining room." He said, placing a gently kiss on her forehead.
