Mystery

Alex set down on the couch beside Jackson and nodded his head towards the door. Telling the girls they were going to light the fire in the fire pit. Both of the brothers walked down by the fire pit. Jackson ask "did you find something. "

"Yes, a vampire hiding in the cave up on Tom Cat hill, the bastard shot me with a silver bullet ."

"Damm Alex, where did he shoot you?" Jackson shouted, gritting his teeth as turned to look at the house to make sure the girls were still inside and didn't over hear what he just spotted out.

"He tried to shoot me in the heart, but I turned and got hit in the shoulder?" Alex stated calmly as if he was taking about the weather.

Jackson raised his brow, "Did you leave his body in the cave?"

"I didn't kill him yet." He shrugged "I called Rich and he took him to the dungeon .He's taking a little nap right now."Alex chuckled "I'm going to have a chat with him Monday morning."

"Oh hell Alex"Jackson bellowed "I can't miss this. What do you plan to ask that bastard ,in your kind and gentle manner."

"I have a trader in the castle, I plan to find out who it is. "

"What makes you think that?"

"Because know one except the people in the castle know we are out here. Rich said all he knew was me and Lexi were leaving for the weekend.I also need to find out, where he got those silver bullets."

"Alex he already knows he's going to die. What if he just tells you a lie Even if you compelled him if his Will is strong enough he can still lie, you know."

"I have something I'm going to try.

You know how grandmother wasn't like us? Well when I was little, right after mother had just given brith to you. I played in the garden every day and grandmother took care of me. She tried to teach me a few things, I never could do any of them.

And never tried any more after I got older."

"Alex what did grandmother try to tech you?" Jackson ask curiously, this was news to him every since he was little Alex has been able to use his abilities. Unlike him Who had to practice over and over again to use just a fraction of what he's capable off Alex was a natural when it came to using his powers.

" Jackson , grandmother could read minds . Maybe if I drink Lexi's blood Sunday night or Monday morning before I have my little chat , I might be able to do that too."

"Alex you were only five years old when I was born, do you even remember what grandmother told you?"

"I remember most of it , I will ask him in as you say " Alex chuckled "in my kind and gentle way first. Then I will try to read his mind, if I scramble his brain" He shrugged "what the hell, he committed treason against me he's already going to die anyway."

"So true Alex, I will start the fire .You go help the girls with the cooler."

Alex turned to glance over his shoulder towards the house to make sure the girls hadn't came out yet. Jackson held his hand up over the fire pit flicking his fingers like he was flicking water off his fingers tips .A tiny blue flame started on the log ,he glanced over at Alex with a mischievous grin. As he moved his finger to the left then back to the right making the tiny blue flame dance across the logs . He paused the movement of his hand for a moment making the tiny blue flame lingering at the edge of the the wood ,flickering towards the custom block construction.

Alex raised his brows, looking over at his brother who was playing with his abilities like a new toy,"don't let get out of the fire pit."

"It's not a inferno Alex, just a little flame to get it started."

Alex chuckled " your going to piss the bed playing with fire."

Alex turned walking towards the lake house leaving Jackson at the fire pit making the blue flames, dance and linger, around the logs with his finger tips.

The girls meet him on the deck , carrying the cooler together. Karmen had a tote on her shoulder full of hot dogs, buns

marshmallows and chips. And Lexi had the hot dog and s'mores roasters in one hand and in the other hand she had the cooler handle .

The girls gave Alex the heavy cooler to carry , as they all walked down to Edge of the lake together. Taking a seat in the comfy Adirondack chairs around the the fire pit. Karmen had packed stuff for Jackson to make her tequila sunrise ,some cola for Lexi and some beer for the guys in the big cooler . She started handing everyone their favorite drinks right away.

And like she just hadn't rolled her eyes at Jackson earlier in the day. She hands him a red plastic cup with the stuff to make her tequila sunrise. With a sweet smile on her beautiful face, and in a sweetest kind voice that would make angles jealous .she ask ," Will you please make me a tequila sunrise."

Like a perfect Prince he took her red cup and made her tequila sunrise , he smiled . "Do you have a shot glass for your extra shot ."

"No ,"she pouted ."I forgot to get me one you can just put me an extra shot in my tequila sunrise."

"As you wish, sweet cheeks."

"Why do you keep calling me sweet cheeks?" She giggled at the corny nickname.

"Because you have the cutest little dimples on your cheeks " he grinned ,pinching her cheek right beside her dimple.

"You know ,some people think dimples are a birth defect . There caused by the zygomaticus major muscle splitting before birth." She explained the medical reason for being born with dimpled cheeks.

He winked, lightly tapped the end of her nose with his finger tip ."Well your's make you look like a perfect little doll."

In a ever polite and sincere tone she said."Thank you, and thank you for making my drink."

Jackson was beginning to think he was losing his charm , he wondered why the little debutant was polite and kind most of the time. She didn't even get flustered and swoon over him like most chicks she smiled sweetly ,but if he flirted or complemented her it was a different story . She was still polite but acted as though she was speaking to her second grade school teacher. And not to mention she has some damm plastic surgeon about to lose his mind . He wondered is she so smart that she can't be swept off her feet by his empty flattery. This little debutant is a mystery , and he loves mysteries , now he is determined to solve this one.

On the other side of the fire pit Lexi stands up giving everyone a hot dog roasters. Then Karmen opened the cooler passing out paper plates, chips and the hot dogs.

As the sun started to set over the lake Alex pulled Lexi into his lap, as everyone set quietly watching as the sky turned beautiful shades of violet, indigo and amber. The sun descended behind the trees . The sky turned dark with the star's and the moon reflecting on the surface of the water. The flames in the fire pit danced in the darkness casting shadows onto the ground and the air became cooler from the light breeze blowing through the trees.

The temperature dropped considerably, and Karmen began to shake and shiver, she pulled her chair closer to the fire trying to warm up , she strutted through her chattering teeth " D...Do..Does anyone need anything, I'm going to the house to get a jacket .

"Karmen we didn't bring flashlights be careful on the way to the house and don't fall down." Lexi reminded her little girly friend.

Jackson sees this as the perfect opportunity dig a little deeper into the mystery of the beautiful little debutant and to find out why his charm isn't working on her like it does on other chicks. Not letting the opportunity pass by he speaks up right away with his sexy smooth voice landing gently in her ear. "karmen , allow me to walk with you to the house. These tree roots are treacherous in the dark." He smiled,as he held his hand out to help her stand like a true gentleman.

She readily agreed to his kind jester, placing her hand in his."Ok, that's very nice of you."

"Gently squeezing her hand he nodded towards the house . "Please allow me , I will help guide you through the darkness." He said in the same silky smooth voice he used before. Sending a slight shiver up her spine adding more goosebumps on her skin.
