It was almost time for dinner and the evening sun streamed through the elegant stained glass windows casting brilliant colors on the walls and the immaculate marble floors of the dining room .Turning the whole room into a beautiful dazzling light show making it appear enchanting and magical.
As the sun began to set the brilliant colors faded leaving only the romantic glow of the beautiful chandeliers hanging over the gleaming polished table .Alex pulling Lexi's hand up to his lips placing a slight kiss on the back of it and spoke in a gentle kind voice " Sweetheart what would you like for dinner."
Karmen lifted her head out of the big black book opening her mouth to speak but Lexi cut her off " don't you even try it little girl. I'm eating real food tonight and I'm eating in the west wing garden by the pool in my bikini."
Karmen put her head back down writing on her note pad ,mumbling under her breath " you keep eating that junk and you're bikinis not going to fit you anymore."
Alex rolled his eyes, he didn't mean to start another cat fight, asking her again what she wanted for dinner and of course she chose pizza and cola .Alex quickly typed it in his phone before the cat fight started .
Lexi glanced over at Karmen and shot back with a sharp tongue " you order that crap and you don't even eat. If your boney ass don't start having your protein shake your going to blow away like a kite on a windy day."
She rolled her eyes at Lexi and continued her search for human like creatures with fangs in the big black book.
Jackson took the ink pen from her hand , not knowing any other way to stop her from continuously writing down creatures to eliminate from the black book .
He brought her hand up to his lips kissing her middle finger where a knot had formed from holding the ink pin in her hand for so long.
"Babe, we can look at this book later tonight, it's time for dinner now ,I would really like it if you eat a little more. I noticed this morning you didn't eat your breakfast"
Folding the book over she pushed it to the side, she looked up at him but not meeting his eyes, trying to keep her heart beat steady ,mumbling lowly.
"I know I just wasn't very hungry at breakfast this morning."
Lexi chuckled to have Karmen glare at her, and her heart rate elevate slightly. Jackson glanced down giving her a stern look, using her name while speaking to her something he never does " Karmen is there something you're not telling me. I thought we have all ready had this conversation before, we don't have secrets, remember?"
Lexi chuckled still riled up ,blurting out " it's not a damm secret if you just pay attention, her boney ass never eats. She's supposed to be drinking a protein shake with every meal ,one that has been prescribed by a doctor."
His stern look turned into a mixture of concern and anger. He lifted her chin to look in her eyes speaking in a demanding voice " why didn't you tell me this, and why are you not drinking your protein shake?"
She tried to look away from his eyes, but he didn't let her , he demanded an answer.
" Look at me when I'm talking to you, now where is your protein shake and why the hell are you not drinking it?"
She looked up into his eyes, not to see his beautiful hazel ones, but startling eyes with small blue flames inside. Stunned and shocked her she stammering out her answer
" I...I .. left it in my apartment, I just forgot about it, that's all."
Alex set calmly drinking his beer he had never seen Jackson this worked up before.
He was usually laid back and full of jokes, nothing ever seems to bother him ,at least not this much. Alex called out to him, not knowing if he was angry or just upset because Karmen wasn't taking care of herself. " Jackson calm down and listen to what she has to say."
Never taking his eyes off her, he answered Alex with a composed voice.
" I hear her Alex , you know I do, I hear everything. I just want a little more of an explanation."
Like a cornered wild animal she stood up with her hand on her hip shouting at the second most dangerous man in the country
"Why are you so damm angry, I promise I wasn't lying or trying to hiding anything from you. I don't have my prescription with me to get a refill. And I'm not going to die with out it. It just stops me from losing weight."
Confused and startled at her out burst he flinched and jumped backwards a little causing a huge roar of laughter to come from Alex. With his thundering laughter came a taunting comment towards his little brother. " Don't be scared, I don't think she can bet you up, but I'm not real sure about it."
When he turned to glare at Alex ,She turned to walk away. He grabbed her arm pulling her back to him, when he spoke his voice was rough and sounded harsh to her ears but his eyes were back to normal.
" who said I was angry"
She tried to push him away snapping out at him.
" your damm blue eyes, I seen them clear as day."
He held on to her tightly not letting her get away from him, pulling her closer so that she was standing between his legs he wrapped his arms around her waist.
" So that's why you think I'm angry, did you ever once think I'm just upset?" he ask her in a tranquil manner, caressing her cheek with the back of his hand.
Feeling like she had won that battle and he wasn't going to insist on an explanation she put her arms on his chest playing with the collar of his shirt pouting with big puppy eyes.
" But there's no reason for you to be. I told you I don't have my prescription." She pouted her soft full lips and batted her big brown eyes trying to play on his sympathy.
How ever her assumption was wrong , he looked into her big brown eyes that always caused his heart to flutter and at her luscious pouty lips that tasted like candy to him. He pulled her little delegate hands off his collar speaking calmly but acting confused.
"So let's see, my wife is brilliant with the IQ of a genius, but she doesn't know how to call her Doctor and have her prescription forwarded to a pharmacy in town. Now did I get that correct or did I miss something."
Stammering she tried to think of an excuse "Uh...uh well " But he cut her off. " save it, and tell me why the hell your not drinking your protein shake."
"Because it taste gross." She hissed with her tongue stuck out making a gagging sound.
Turning red from holding in his laughter he composed his self making a deal with her.
"Ok,..ok, so I got it, just how much protein is in this gross protein shake." He ask her with a small chuckle.
With her tongue stuck out she hissed and gagged her answer to his question.
About fifty grams and it taste like feet and iron. yuck!
"This is my deal if you eat fifty grams of protein each meal you can skip the protein shake. And I mean every bite."
