In the younger couples bedroom Karmen stood backwards in front of the full length mirror ,with her head turned to to the side looking a at her backside, she had her brows tugged together ,mumbling under her breath. " what the hell, really "
Jackson walked past her with his clothes in his hand , hearing her mumbling he glancing over his shoulder. "don't even start , you told me don't hold back." He muttered ,as he walked by her.
" Damm it Jackson, I have hickeys and bite marks on my ass. Who the hell does something like that?" She complained, glaring in his direction ,just to see a big smirk on his face. And to hear his possessive answer. "I do, your little ass belongs to me. I'll bite it if I want to."
She rolled her eyes, as she slipped on a boat neck short sleeved shirt ,that was cut high around the neck, to cover the hickeys and bite marks . She finished getting dressed wearing a pair of dark blue pants, sliding her feet into a pair of dark blue high heel shoes.
She turned to cheek out her reflection in the mirror .Checking to make sure everything was perfectly done one last time before they stepped out of the bedroom.
They strolled through the hallway hand in hand into the dining room. Lexi and Alex were already sitting at the table . Allison the kitchen helper was serving there breakfast. Her protein shake and a small bag of almonds had already been served by Brenda the other kitchen helper before they had arrived in the dining room.
When they sit down at the table, he pulled her chair closer to him so that he could feed her the scrambled egg and toast Alex had ordered for her.
Alex glanced over at them speaking to Jackson, " Did you put all of grandmother's journals in order according to the year or just in a random order. "
" I just put all of them on the shelf together in a random order. But all we need to do is look at the first page, grandmother used a new Journal for each year." He explained to Alex. Before picking up a fork to push a bite of scrambled eggs into Karmen's mouth.
" How many of them do you think we have left." Alex Curiously ask.
" A little over two hundred, I believe grandmother was about two hundred and forty when she passed." Jackson nonchalantly said,
"Lexi's eyes went wide , two hundred and forty," she shouted, chocking and spewing milk across the table.
Alex chuckled , reaching over patting her gently on the back. " sweetheart vampires live for a long time" Alex explained.
karmen jumped into the conversation to explain the theory behind the lifespan of vampires versus the lifespan of humans.
"Lexi studies have been done on vampires and humans. They found that vampires have fewer illnesses and can recover from a lot of things that would kill humans. This makes their life span about three times longer then the average human. But they also believe this is the reason vampires can't reproduce like humans. It's a simple trade off in evolution the longer a mammal lives the less fertile they are, reducing the risk of over population."
Jackson was getting turned on listening to her babbling about biology . He shoved another bite of scrambled eggs in her mouth to keep her quiet. Leaning over he whispered in her ear. " Babe, you know your brain turns me on, if you don't shut up I'm taking you back to bed and putting another hickey on your ass."
Alex turned his head and put his hand over his lips trying to stifle his laughter, gathering his composure, he peered around the table to see everyone was done eating.
Lexi had eaten all her breakfast, Jackson had finished his glass of blood and his steak. And after her protein shake and a couple of bites of scrambled eggs Karmen was begging Jackson not to feed her anymore.
" is everyone ready to go to the library, it shouldn't take that long for us to find the journals we're looking for." Alex said, standing up to take Lexi's hand.
Jackson stood up grabbing the bag of almonds off the table he had requested from the kitchen. Karmen happily skipped away from the table, walking beside Lexi .
Jackson grabbed her belt loop pulling her back beside him, he held the small bag of almonds up in front of her saying " your not getting off that easy, you're going to eat these in the library today."
" But I promise you there's nothing wrong with me. When my blood work comes back today you will see, I'm in perfect health."She whined in a small voice.
He ignored her and kept walking towards the library, when they all stepped inside he pulled a chair out for her and set the bag of almonds down in front of her. " Those better be gone before lunch. " he said in a demanding tone, before he walked over to the book shelf pulling out a large stack of the Journals handing every one four a peace, with instructions on what to look for. " If you find a Journal dating back further then 1778 " he pointed to the end of the table saying " put it down there. Turning to a long table beside the book shelf he said " the rest you can put on that table and I will put them in ascending numerical order before putting them back on the shelf."
