Tough love

She stood still nervously biting on her thumb nail , peering up at him. Her heart started beating a little faster and her palms started to get sweaty as she patiently waited for him to read more about what the faint line could mean.

Could it really be possible, she tried counting in her head how long it had been since they mated, and it had only been a little over two weeks ago. She shook head, there's no way she could be pregnant .

It was to soon, even if for some reason fertilization took place that first night it would still take fourteen days before a fertilized egg could implant its self in her uterus. Brushing her her thoughts to the side ,she waited for him to tell her a difference reason for the faint line to appear.

He held the directions in his hand glancing up from the paper into her big brown eyes " In the morning Babe don't forget to set a timer, the directions said the test results need to be read before ten minutes. Any longer than that a line like this could appear."

" That's got to be the reason, I didn't set a timer. And all that time we were talking we somehow lost track of time. There's just no way possible I could be pregnant yet." She uttered, turning to walk back into the bedroom with him trailing behind her with the other pregnancy test in his hand. He threw it in his duffel bag along with several small packs of almonds for her to snack on. He picked up his bag and held his hand out for her to take.

" Come on Babe, I heard Lexi and Alex leave their room five minutes ago." He gently held her hand as they descended the grand staircase , they stepped inside the dining room to see everyone else already setting at the table enjoying their breakfast .

The kitchen staff hadn't came into work yet, but chef Rosa had put out a continental breakfast consisting of donuts, bagels,scones ,a bowl of fruit and muffins before she left the castle last night.

She had also set up a coffee pot with a timer on it ,so they could have some fresh brewed coffee. She had put a fresh pitcher of orange juice and some Almond milk in a mini fridge that set at the end of the buffet . She even remember to stock the little mini fridge with a nice bottle of beef blood ,Karmen's protein shake and some bottled water.

" Good morning,"King Charles called out when they stepped closer to him. He was enjoying a fresh cup of coffee and the other half of Queen Victoria's grapefruit with a touch of sugar on top. Which Jackson thought was slightly amusing since Queen Victoria had told him to indulge himself last night Jackson silently chuckled to himself, a slight grin graced his Hanson face.

" Good morning " both Jackson and Karmen replied. Jackson pulled on Karmen's hand to step over to the buffet, she pulled away from him grumbling " I know, I'm going to have a bagel and my protein shake."

" You better eat it ,don't just break it up into prices and leave it on your plate." Jackson spouted, his morning voice sounding slightly harsh.

Queen Victoria peered over her coffee cup at the young couple, the roughness of his voice along with the commanding tone caught her attention. She questioned to her self if this young prince was being mean to her beautiful niece or perhaps they were having a little spate.

She watched them carefully silently looking for signs of abuse as she nonchalantly sipped her coffee . She watched as Karmen toasted her bagel and put a dab of cream cheese on it , how Jackson busied himself pouring drinks bring them back to the table .And how each time he walked back over to where Karmen was standing the young prince gingerly caressed her back and put tiny butterfly kisses on the side of her head.

Not wanting to jump to the wrong conclusion she observed them closely after they took a seat in front of her.

" Karmen darling , your mother told me you have already transferred to the University here in Evanston are you going to have a busy schedule this fall?" Queen Victoria ask casually ,inconspicuously trying to investigate into the matter further.

" About the same as last year." She said answering Queen Victoria. She fingered around on the toasty bagel on her plate not attempting to take a bite of it. Causing Jackson to give her a warning glare and a little nudge ,nodding towards her plate in an attempt to get her to eat .

Queen Victoria noticed the harsh glare from the young prince which she didn't care for.But she also noticed that he was only aggressive towards Karmen's reluctance to eat.

She questioned to her self if this was the young prince's attempt at tough love. Something the whole family needed to do but never could bring their self to do so, prompting her to question him.

" Jackson dear, Is Karmen giving you problems?"

" Momma, Jackson don't take none of Karmen's crap."Lexi spouted out from across the table. "he's not like you and Aunt Monica coddling and begging her, he shoves food in her mouth and makes her eat."
