Borrowed Power

"Damm straight I'm going to try it, and you should too. But I need to know exactly how Karmen said the chant. Some chants can be recited in your head, just like reading a book silently to yourself. Some need to come out of your mouth like a command , those type of chants are controlled by the force of your voice, the more demanding," he paused a moment and chuckled " Well with ours, the more demanding your voice is ,the more destruction you cause with it. And finally some of them you use your hand to control the force."

Waving his hand towards Karmen and Lexi for them to step forward , shouting over to them "Sweetheart, you and Karmen come over here." The two girls stepped forward , he glanced around to find the safest place for everyone to sand.

Reaching out for Lexi's hand he pulled her to him, grabbing her shoulders, he turned her around giving her and Karmen instructions on where he wanted them . He pointing back to a small clearing where there was no trees around to fall on top of her.

"sweetheart I want you to stand back there behind me ,all the energy should be projected outwardly. It will be safer if you're back there beside that rock. Now Karmen come and stand in front of me."

She stepped in front of Alex, he leaned forward so that he could hear everything she said " If you have the chant memorized just say it out loud, now if you stop repeating it the little tornado will go away."

Alex took a deep breath and started reciting the chant focusing on the tree in front of him, the wind picked up blowing a few leaves around. He continued reciting the chant his voice became louder , his commanding voice echoed through the forest forming a small tornado. It swirled in a small circle moving towards the base of the tree.However when the small tornado touched the tree bark the wind dyed down the small tornado stopped spinning dumping sticks and leaves on the ground.

" try it again " Kamen shouted encouraging Alex the same way Jackson had encouraged her.

Chuckling he peered down at the tiny cheerleader standing in front of him.

" Did I say all the words right?"

" Yeah, they sounded right to me, but it took me three tries ."

Her words made Alex scrunch his brows tight, thinking to himself , he had used a lot of power just to get the little tornado to move over to the tree , just to have it fall to the ground. the only reason he could think of for this to happen was because this was a demon chant, and he didn't share enough of his grandmother's DNA for the chant to work for him. A thought came into his mind and smile curled on his lips.

" Karmen I will try it again ,but this time I'm going to borrow your demon power."

" What?" She shouted, her eyes going wide as she stepped away from him.

He grabbed her hand coaxing her

" it's not going to hurt. All your going to feel is a small tingling feeling in your shoulder."

" You promise." She ask, taking tiny hesitant steps back towards him. Lexi rolled her eyes leaning toward Jackson whispering " Look at her she's such a little scaredy-cat."

Jackson chuckled, shouting over towards her, " Babe, if Alex says it not going to hurt, I promise it'll be ok."

On Jackson's words she slowly stepped back over to stand in front of Alex. He placed his hand on her shoulder, leaning over he uttered some calming words to her.

" Karmen , I promise your not going to feel anything but a little tingling sensation in your shoulder, now don't get frightened okay. Are you ready?"

" Yeah, I guess."

Reciting the chant again a surge moved up through Karmen's chest touching Alex's hand causing his hand to shake, his eyes bulged slightly as his voice became louder. The wind picked up ,the small tornado formed moving across the ground .

It moved up the tree ,stripping the leaves and limbs sending them flying through the air. Before the tree fell Alex directed it with a wave of his hand, lowering it to the ground with out making a sound .

Alex kept reciting the chant, moving the tree across the ground .With a flick of his wrist he settled it beside the other one.

Alex pulled his hand off Karmen's shoulder breaking the connection between him and her demon power. The wind died down settling the leaves and branches to the ground .

" Wow" Karmen blurted out turning to see Jackson and Lexi walking towards them.

" What the hell did you just do?" Jackson ask curiously

" Well when I couldn't move the little tornado up the tree with my power, I remembered when I was back in the training camp an old instructor told Rich that if we ever got into trouble that he could use my power. Rich and I used to do it for demonstrations on the training field."

"So that was all Karmen's power."

"Yeah, I just borrowed it.

"Alex you really need to teach me more."

Alex chuckled, putting his hand on Jackson's shoulder. With amusement in his voice " Glad to see you want to do something besides party and being a whore."

Narrowing his eyes at Alex, he denied the allegations " Alex, I never was a whore, I believed in free love."

Alex chuckled again, even more amused by his brother's denial.

"Don't tell me that bullshit, I know mothers friend lady Annabel bought that Ferrari for you when you where in college."

With a little smirk on his face Jackson looked down at his feet, kicking a small rock around in the dirt. He didn't know how Alex found out about that, but he couldn't deny it. Lady Annabel wasn't the only old aristocratic lady who had been quite generous when he was in college.

"Well, she was just a very nice lady Alex it's not like I charged her or anything."

" And isn't that about the same time you stopped wearing jeans and t-shirt and Lady Flossi 's tailor made you all those expensive suits. "

" Damm Alex,that was when I was eighteen, and I was more like an escort. Just how the hell did you find out?"

" Call it what you want little brother, but if you don't remember it was my job to watch over you. I had access to your college funds and I also have access to all mothers money.

When you showed up with that Ferrari I checked your college fund to see if it was being drained. Then I checked mothers money to see if she had bought the car for you as a gift.

After I seen mother didn't buy it ,I panicked. I thought you might have got involved into drug trafficking or something. So I done a little investigating and found out you were spending a lot of time with lady Annabel taking her to parties and out to dinner ."

"Why didn't you say anything?"

"Because It's not my job to interfere with relationships between two adults. And you were eighteen years old."
