Pain and death

After Alex ended the phone call, he told the others what his grandfather said about Karmen's father being an ancient demon and how her powers and abilities worked.

He also explained how his hand needed to heal like a human and the reason he couldn't detect her powers like his great grandfather could.

All them listed intently to what he said, but still had a few questions they wanted answers to .

Jackson is the one who started questioning Alex first, and for good reason Alex thought, he knew if it was Lexi they were talking about he would want to know everything, without one single detail left out.

" Alex are you saying that Karmen could kill a powerful vampire like you with her powers or in any manner, say like if she stabbed you or something." Jackson ask,

Alex chuckled, " I didn't ask, but if I were you , I wouldn't piss your wife off" He stated peering down at his hand that Lexi had wrapped up like a mummy.

" Oh! we need to find out, Karmen could be my bodyguard and we could just take off and go shopping anytime we wanted to." Lexi blurted out.

Alex raised a brow, " we'll see about that"

"Can we really do it?"Lexi asked excitedly flashing Alex a beautiful smile.

Alex was silent for a moment , he shifted his eyes towards Karmen, he recalled how her raw power scorched his hand and moved up his arm ,but then he moved past that in his mind. His eyes scanned her from head to toe , all ninety pounds of her.

" Hell no, the two of you out together by yourself would just be inviting trouble. And she don't even know how to use her powers."

"But...But. What if she learned." Lexi stammered

" Sweetheart, that could take years, and the only one that could possibly teach her would be great grandfather. He told me he would help her, if it's ok with Jackson."

Jackson lite up another cigarette, taking a deep drag , he blew the smoke up into the air before saying anything. " Just what does that mean, I'm not going to stop Karmen from learning how to use her powers and abilities."

Alex chuckled, and scratched the back of his head " Well little brother, great grandfather made it clear that he couldn't help himself from sniffing around Karmen like she is fresh baked bread."

" I guess it'll be ok, Babe just wear a lot of perfume, you know the one I like ,and put some of that body butter on too. That should cover your natural scent."

Karmen rolled her eyes, voicing her opinion or more like her preference.

" I'll only do it if you're with me, your great grandfather is really scary. He makes me feel like he wants to kidnap me."

Alex chuckled, but didn't say anything , he leaned his head on his hand that was propped up by his elbow. Thinking to himself, how funny that sounds coming from someone who possesses the power to inflict pain and even death to the most powerful creatures to ever walk the earth.

And before Jackson could say anything about that , King Charles and Queen Victoria came out on the deck to joined the the two young couples for a drink.

When Queen Victoria seen Alex's hand bandaged up like a mummy she gasped,

" Oh lord, Alex did you cut your hand with the chainsaw?" She gushed

" No Vicky I burnt it trying to making tea. I just don't know my way around the kitchen very well."

"Oh dear, I will make you a natural healing poultice for that. It should be healed by Friday." Holding her hand out for her daughter ,Queen Victoria said, " Come with me Lexi, I will show you how to do this."

Being the daughter of an old hippie couple has its advantages, Queen Victoria knows everything about natural healing and the power of herbal medicine, after mixing a few herbs together she found in the kitchen

they stepped back out onto the deck to unwrap Alex's hand to apply the poultice she had made for him.

She took hold of his hand that had now turned red and some of the clear blisters had popped, oozing clear liquid from them.

"Oh, Alex this looks bad." Queen Victoria raved. But this poultice should do the trick we just need to make sure to change it twice a day.

Karmen peeked over at Alex's red blasted hand, her head dropped and a frown formed on her face. Jackson pulled her close whispering in her ear " Babe, don't feel bad Alex is the one who talked you into to letting him use your powers. Just remember you backed away from him and didn't even want to do it in the first place."
