Inside the old historic restaurant Roxy the owner came out to meet Jackson. Slightly bowing she greeted the young prince she has known all her life " Good Evening Prince Jackson. How are you doing?
"I'm doing okay, how about yourself?" Jackson politely ask the older woman.
" Oh doing fine, Pam has already called me this afternoon to tell me to reserve a large table for y'all tonight. I have a good one for you right over here." She said waving her hand for them to follow her as she leads them through the dining area to a large table in the middle of the room .
Unlike the exclusive restaurants up town Gabby's is the only restaurant in Evanston that the Royal family eats in the same dining area as the general public. It sets in the cusps of the old historic Aristocratic neighborhood only a couple of blocks away from where Jackson's mansion is . And unlike the restaurants uptown nobody rushes out to pull their chairs out for them. Not only that ,but all the other customers continue with their meal as if the Royal family was any other customers who came in the door. As an agreement made many decades ago between one of Alex's to many great grandfather's to mention and the Chapmen family the owners of the Restaurant.
It's the most relaxed and friendly place in town for Aristocratic Vampires to eat. It's like any other local pub in every outer neighborhood where all the locals go eat and socialize with their friends and family.
" Can I get y'all something to drink while you wait for the rest of the family?"
" Yeah I'll take a old fashioned made with your Royal thirty ." Referring to the bourbon whiskey exclusively made in his Uncle John's distillery for this tavern aged in a charred oak barrel for thirty years before being bottled. The only other place this whiskey is available is at Eddington castle and of course at Jackson and Uncle John's mansion fetching a hefty price tag of 250 dollars a shot."And a ginger ale for my wife." Glancing across the table at king Evander he ask" what do you want Van"
" I'll have a double shot of that Royal thirty on the rocks."
" As Roxy was writing down their order she echoed Jackson's words. "Your wife"
" Yeah you met her the last time I was here." Jackson replied, slipping his arm around Karmen's shoulders.
" I do remember, I mean how could I forget something like that.Nothing like that has ever happened here before. But I guess it was true what the tabloids said." Roxy smiled
"Well something like that, but anyway Karmen and I will be getting married Monday and when everything settles back down in the city about Lexi and Alex we plan to move back to my house .So you'll see a lot more of us around here."
" That will be great." She turned speaking to Karmen " Welcome to the neighborhood I'm sure you will like it. I live in the house right next to the tavern here." She said pointing to the left side of the room "All of us grew up here together of course Jackson and Alex didn't ,but as you already know Jackson lives in his maternal great grandparents mansion. They spent a lot of time with us playing in the streets." She pats Karmen's shoulder" and believe it or not your husband was a little Angel but King Alexander was a Hellyan always getting into trouble."
Suddenly a loud amused voice echoed through the restaurant " Roxy are you telling on me again. " It was Alex with the rest of the family. " Karmen don't listen to her ,she's still pissed off because me and her brother Scott enlisted her Barbie dolls in our Royal Army ."
Roxy patted Karmen's shoulder again "the little hellyan set their hair on fire and broke their heads off." She chuckled
Walking up to Roxy, Alex wrapped his arms around her neck hugging her. Pulling away he said " Roxy , I would like you to meet my wife Lexi." Turning to Lexi he induced her to his childhood friend. "Lexi this is Roxy she's the owner of this restaurant and a friend of mine I've known her all my life."
"I guessed that. It's nice to meet you Roxy" Lexi smiled sweetly
Bowing her head she greeted Lexi "It's very nice meeting you Queen Alexis."
Glancing over at Alex she said " Such a beautiful sweet young lady Alex, I can see why she captured your heart."
"She did indeed" Alex stated
" So glad to hear someone did,I was beginning to think you didn't have one."
Roxy teased " y'all all take a seat I'm taking drink orders and after I'm done I'll send y'all a couple of waitress to take your orders."
While everyone was busy giving Roxy their drink orders King Evander looked around for the young lady who has caught his eye hoping to get a glance of her. She told him earlier she would be working here until nine o'clock tonight.
Seeing King Evander glancing around the restaurant Alex smiled, " Roxy" Alex called out to get her attention. " Yeah is there something else you want Alex? " she responded " Yeah can you make sure Harper is one of our waitresses." Alex ask glancing over at his great grandfather with a grin on his face.
" Sure can, I'll send her and Rylee over their both excellent waitresses."
Leaning over towards Jackson King Evander whispered " You don't seem as close to the owner as Alex,is there a reason for that?"
" I'm a lot younger then her, she's about three years older then Alex and he played with her brother when we were kids. I played down the street with the younger kids." Jackson whispered back
" I see, king Evander hums "is that how Harper got her job here, I'm just assuming the tips here are pretty good. And a lot of young people would love to work here."
" Yeah, I'm sure Alex wrote her a reference letter and maybe even called Roxy, because your right it is pretty hard to get a job here. Most of the kids who work here are related to the head maid or butler that work in these old mansions."
" I see" King Evander grinned mischievously "So it would be safe to say Alexander knows Harper's work schedule for this place so that the two jobs don't overlap."
" Not necessarily Alex never involves himself in making out schedules for the people who work at the Castle. He lets the heads of each department do that for him. The only person who might know in the Castle is Julie the head maid she's the one who takes care of the schedule for all the maids." Jackson explained
Before anything else was whispered across the table Harper and another young girl approached the table. The young black headed girl with sapphire blue eyes stood beside Alex who had taken a set at one end of the table.
Alex narrowed his eyes at the young lady with black hair ,a wide grin curled on his lips " You got any Barbie dolls" he teased the young girl who was none other than Roxy's daughter.
"No Your Majesty but I have one of mom's ,do you want it?" Rylee wiggled her brows a smile plastered on her beautiful little face.
"Yeah mail it to the Castle" Alex teased only to get scolded by her mother who was helping bring drinks to the table.
" Alex don't try to get her in on your evil schemes." Roxy said, just to hear Alex deny any wrong doing.
"My my Roxy you certainly are suspicious of me, I would never plot anything with your own sweet daughter."
Rylee leaned forward whispering in Alex's ear. " We can talk later she's got her eye on us right now." She giggled
After helping Alex tease her mother Rylee continued her work taking everybody's orders on the right side of the table. And on the other end of the table Harper had started taking orders on the left side of the table. After taking Ethan's order she moved on down to stand next to king Evander hoping that crazy king wouldn't try to flirt with her while she was working.
However being the bold man he is he had other plans. " Hello darling l was hoping to see you here. "
